the alloy Viper slave is almost .250" (1/4) shorter in height compared to the plastic stock slave. that is why we supply the 2 billet shims to place behind the new slave before you bolt it to the tranny. that puts the new slave at the correct installed height for the engagment to the pressure plate.
if this isnt done, your engagment height will be off, and the piston in the slave cylinder will over travel in distance and then will get cocked at an angle and hang up, making the pedal not feel like its releasing at the uppermost point of pedal travel. this is what happened to stinker, when his installer only used 1 shim.
you can lower the pedal height by installing washers over the studs of the mastercylinder mounting plate before you install it to the firewall, that will lower the pedal hieght.
one good thing about the clutch pedal being a bit higher, is it forces you to make a full engagment thru the arc travel for proper engagement/disengagment of the clutch when shifting.
