i just took my exhaust off and put justin's mids on and it threw up a code.
p0420 1/1 catalytic converter effieciency-srt 10
what does that mean??:dontknow: :dontknow: :dontknow:

it means you dont have cats...you can get a mopar performance pcm and it will eliminate those monitors

Yup..vec wont turn it off bud :)

You need sims (simulators) to make the PCM think the cats are there.

do a search, you will find all kinds of info on it and where / how much.

what do sims look like and what is the difference between mechanical sims and regular sims or are they the same, that is probably a stupid question but i thought i would ask.
when i talked to justin he said the mechanical sims were included.

Mechanical sims are basically spark plug non-fouler's that basically get drilled, and your oem o2's get screwed into them tricking the PCM into thinking cats are still there.

Electrical sims, are sims that send the correct voltage to the PCM and are used IN PLACE of the o2's (02's are removed).

it is a 2004 but i found the mechanical sims they screw in to the mids then the 02 sensors screw into the sims, but where do they go,i have 4 bungs, from what i saw there are bungs before and after the first set of cats,so my question is which bung do the sims go in.

THANKS!!!!!!bucke77 you've been a great help,i really appreciate it,i just purchased this truck and as you can tell i am still learning about it.

no i did not install them at all, stupid me!!!!they are still in my tool box.
i also can't get my exhaust to stop leaking,i installed a magnaflow and justin's mids,do you have any suggestions.
the clamps that come with the cat back suck!!!!

do you hear an exhaust leak or see and feel one? I dont like magnaflow and have never used so I cant give you too much on that. install your sims and that check engine light should go off.

i can hear and feel exhaust coming out from where the mids and cat back come together.

sorry there I dont know those clamps. make sure the pipes are all the way in and the clamps are tight. again, dont use magnaflow...hope this helps

Yes, those clamps suck ;) You can try to slide the clamp a little and ensure that its flat and not bound up. Putting a small bead of high temp gasket sealer on the compressed end before you slide them together helps.

Otherwise, take it to a reputable exhaust shop and have them welded.
