Cold air is more dense so your engine smiles:D a big grin as it sucks it in and gives you more power via.... burning more fuel faster!!! Cold air also makes the pavement and your tires less of friends as they lose grip. So its two fold. I might have this wrong but 50's/60's is perfect drag weather. Under those temps the tires get too hard and the pavement to slick. I think:dontknow: ......others might want to clarify.:burnout:

Either way.................whens its cold...........go easy on the fun peddle!!

That would be Mt. Haleakala 10,023 feet. This is where my GF's sister lives. They call it up country. I have been to the summit when there was snow up there..........very weird!!!

yep, winter means more power and less traction. i love this time of year. as long as the streets are dry, i'm out (safely) getting sideways and smoking the tires.

as everybody else has said, be careful out there.

Yeah Roy! What Gives??:dontknow:;):p:p:p:bebored:

Steve- the others are correct regarding winter driving (cold air = more power + high performance tires = poor traction on cold pavement).
The good news is that with the 6-speed, you have complete control!

I'm pretty sure that Roe can help you out with a "Winter Driving" card to reign in your S/C a little. I'd give them a yell.

Another thing to do would be PRACTICE!!!
I remember seeing pics of the GTG's up there in a HUGE parking lot with no light poles. When it's crappy out, and you have some time, go there and practice shifting, steering, acceleration, braking, etc. Get a feel for what the truck will do in situations....and how to correct them.
0-30 accel, 0-50 accel, 0-30-0, 0-50-0, 50-0 hard braking, quick left, quick right. You get the idea.
When you practice these moves, you'll be less likely to 'freak out' when they happen in traffic and will be able to calmly correct.

If possible, go with another truck owner (ya feelin' me, Trekker? :D ) so you can compare and contrast notes.
A video camera is a GREAT learning tool as well. You guys could split the duties! :)

Like G.I. Joe said, "Knowing [what your truck will do] is half the battle!"

Thanks . Thats exactly what I did. It's now been renamed Thr Orchard Beach School
of Hi Performance Driving.
The other day was the first time I drove truck on cold day. Was very surprised to see how different it handled.

HAD THIS EXPERIENCE THE LAST FEW DAYS MYSELF- AFTER I GOT DONE REMOVING ALL THE SEAT FABRIC FROM MY COLON- I DECIDED THAT I NEED TO PAY A LITTLE MORE ATTENTION- ESPECIALLY WITH THE NEW THROTTLE BODY WHICH AS YOU KNOW IS A LITTLE TOUCHY!

I hear ya Kev.... I am up for it... I love that place... Whenever you wanna do it Steve... Lets see if we can get some saftey cones too and do a course. I will edit it and post up on the site.

Oh... I think this could be a real funny thing in the making..... ;) Viper trucks and that parking lot and maybe a few other members as well. Joemags can trailer his truck through the course. ;)

We can make it like an official production, scripted, etc.... My friend does some editing for NBC. I can ask him to take all the footage and play with it.
