Ive already spoken with Stinker about this. But i wanted yalls opinion. Is there any reason that 924-20 comp cam springs (these are the springs that you have to machine the head to make fit) would not have enough seat pressure to handle any cam that Comp Cam can make or that even the most aggressive, nastiest cam you can think of?

I think there wasn't enough surface area for the spring to sit on? I didnt want to mess with any machine work so I went with the GM springs with retainers.

Those springs are a decent street/strip spring and have reasonable seat and open pressure.
A single spring can prevent the need to machine for clearance, in some cases. Of course this also depends on net lift at the valve and guide/retainer clearance to go along with it.
The springs I'm using aren't much higher than stock pressures and I buzz my engine pretty high. And in any performance application, I don't like using more pressure than is needed; excessive pressure can create problems, costs horsepower and accelerate wear.

It used to be that aggressive cam profiles required really high spring pressures to control valve movement. Not any more...

My 2 cents..
