Yah I'm not big on any sausage type product for exactly this reason - I went to a tuna processing plant on a field trip as a kid i still hesitate to eat canned tuna - and canned any meat

Anything that comes in a cellophane wrapper is junk food. It is ok to have a little to keep your body used to dealing with it. Eat the basics, not the processed stuff and we are fine. Bacon is a guilty pleasure. Bacon is the duct tape of food.
Our butcher makes his own sausages, our favourite is Merlo and cracked pepper or Herb and garlic.
People are the problem, they choose to eat too much junk food. You don't have to, it is a choice.
