Corvette Question

Doofas a Saginaw 3 speed is a stick shift and I do believe they were an option, rare in a vette though, got one with OD and one without. The vette ones had a shorter tailshaft than the cars or trucks, full syncro also and gears that are as strong as a muncie 4 speed. The OD unit is a bit lighter duty and the kick down switch should be moved from under the gas peddle to the shifter ( like a splitter)so you can let off the gas during the kick down (or risk blowing the planetary gears in the OD), but, you can get 6 gears out of it by moving the switch.:D :D :D

Sounds too much like the stupid "4+3" trans they put in the C4. :dontknow:

Not trying to thread jack but when changing our gears what kind of expertise do I need my mechanic to have to let him change my gears and get it right? I want to go to 4 88's but I am nervous that there is no one capable in my area. Thanks
