cross drilled rotors versus oem

Ok the stock rotors are getting close @21k? Some say get cross drilled and some say OEM, I am a Porsche guy and the cross drilled work fine for me,how many have cross drilled on their 10's and if so what do you think of them??:dontknow: :dontknow: :dontknow:

I've heard to go with dimpled and slotted, not drilled, because the drilling weakens them? I'm still running oem and that's one of the next things on my list, so good question.
 
never have seen any issues. never seen them warp, they are priced right. why change what works?

Ive had 3 of these trucks, number 1 now owned by the itch, changed rotors and pads at 19k
2nd truck changed rotors and pads 2nd owner after initial change at 31k

latest truck 27k needing rotors and pads

Im just throwing this out there to see if anyone is having more success??:dontknow: :dontknow: We are definately getting fu#$ked for the OEM parts:mad: :mad:

these are high performance brakes, they will wear faster than an average vehicle. most europeon vehicles need rotors at every brake job. other than squeak (which is normal) i have no issues with them. if they brake good, then they will wear quick.

42k on my wifes qc orignal rotors never even turned

Really??:dontknow: :dontknow: :dontknow: I ve owned everything from a Porsche to a Ferrari, never bought rotors, I must be missing something here??? Can you be specific on the models you quote???:D :D :D

Yeah...screw OEM!!!:(

I have exactly 15,000 miles on my truck with about 6,000 of those miles spent going less than 50 MPH or less. And my brakes are ABSOLUTELY embarassing! Here I am in this big ole expensive pickemup truck with the loudest metallic sound heard since Terminator!

What really gets me is how they make a chirping sound if I am driving around at about 25MPH or less...(BTW, I mostly drive on Base and 25 MPH is the fastest on Base!!) and it especially chirps when turning Left! WTF!!!!

So for those that believe that there aint nothing wrong with these brakes...here's a question....Why do so many people complain about their Brakes??? Is it true that racing Brakes are supposed to squeal this bad? How come Porsches and Lambos don't squeal as bad as my truck? (Lots of those here in Hawaii)....Seriously...

Buy anything other than OEM!!!!!
 
Oh...I was just turning up my stereo louder to drown it out but it has become such a nuisance and sooo embarrasing that I drive with the windows up (They're tinted)!!!!

And the Dealership says there aint shit wrong with my brakes....:(
 
Don't confuse brake rotors with brake pads. In my opinion its the factory pads that lead to the negatives that people don't like...dust, squealing and rapid rotor wear.

First thing to do is get rid of the factory pads. Several options available. For me I've found the Zeckhausen pads the best all around. When I last replaced rotors I chose Zeckhausens in front and factory rotors in the rear. I'd have no qualms about using factory front rotors (again) with Zeckhausens pads.

I have never used slotted or drilled on my SRT so no basis of opinion....
 
Don't buy Brembo rotors... I've heard (and seen pictures) of them cracking and even splitting in half on these trucks. They don't have the design right.

Other than that, I don't know what to tell ya. :dontknow: :)
 
alot of people have tons of different opinions thats what makes the aftermarket world great:D

the oem set up works very well, Dodge designed the pads to brake well under heavy truck conditions therefore you get alot of brake dust. they build a ton of pads so they cant really get into specific compounds.

The Rotors are jsut that, oem rotors, made to work with everyday conditions.

Zeukenhousen (spelling sux) works great, he sells alot of centriposi pads, and they work really well on no dust, and his rotors are awesome also, both are a very good deal for the $

and yes I sell the EBC rotors and pads, and with rotors your not gonna see any difference on the street, but they offer the dimpled and slotted to keep down the heat from the friction.

there pads, they offer many choices from oem replacement to track pads.
there pads work very well under all conditions, an a couple of there choices greatly reduce pad dust , while increasing pad bite, they achieve this because that is about all they do, make things to stop :)

I can tell you work in a service department. I think I have to expain this to my customer's on a daily basis:D
