Alright, I admit I like to stop at starbucks and grab myself a cup before I tear ass to work. The cup holders in these trucks suck butt. I have found a work around using free starbucks napkins but it still does not hold the cup all that well. For the life of me I can't find a single cup/mug that will fit in these cup holders. I wonder what dodge used to size these puppies up before they made the mold.

I'm sure you guys will have some remarks to make but does anyone have a method they use to hold cups better in the stock cup holders?

I'm with ya. The cup holders are a joke. I've launched more Pepsi onto my console than I've drank while in the truck.

I've looked at WalMart and other stores for some kind of 'insert' that I could use. Nothing is even remotely close.

They are to big and sloppy. I don't carry drinks in mine :D

Same with me - drinks not allowed.
...unless I'm by myself, I'll occasionally spirit in a capped 16-20oz bottle of Mountain Dew. ;) It holds them just fine!

The QC's have a little better design for the backseat.... If I am picking up Wendy's or something to take home, I put the pops back there. :dontknow:

Otherwise, the only thing allowed in the truck is bottled water. ... But, that's all I drink anyway, so it works out. :)

Back in July of 04 I posted a similar story about Starbucks coffee!!! It was the day I hit 500 miles and spilled the coffee all over the console and rug!!! Man was I pissed.

Lots of members replyed to my post, one in particular was funny......."just like on a airplane secure all loose items before takeoff" !!!!! No shit!! LOL

The cup holders suck!!! Unless it has a screw top, forget about it.....its gonna spill!! I remember reading a review of the truck back in 04 where the guy doing the review said the same thing. His big gulp spilled all over the place.......so his question to DC was why did they put in such unusable cup holders?

X2

Can't remember what they looked like in my RC, but the 06 NR QC has excellent cup holders

I liked the ones in my 05 Hemi, are they the same???? You guys just whining like a bunch of wimmins :D

I noticed the cup holder thing right away.....'Bout 3 years ago...

The area behind my drivers seat usually has nothing in it but a bottle of detail spray and a few really soft small towels......depending on the size of the cup, I just lay the towel over the cup holder and gently press it into the cup holder.

If I need to fold the towel in two, so be it.... It works every time and doubles as a splash protector/napkin in case there's any little spills or drips....

This works really great and my truck stays squeaky fkn clean...

BTW, once the towel has been pressed into the cup holder by your cup, it pretty much retains its shape so it's easy to pull it in and out while driving.....

Once I'm done drinking, I just chuck the towel behnd the seat with the rest of 'em.....

No biggy.....

I would also agree that the RC cup holder SUCKS!

But... Then I found that a 12oz. can  in a coozy sits quite nicely.
