Get down on one knee when you say that name.......

He built the fastest QC (perhaps) on Earth.........It only cost him about a bazillion bucks in mods and he sold it for 39k to anther member here......

If yer not prepared to bring the bucks to buy every tenth you get...... Well, buy a Paxton, yanks the cats and have fun..... Otherwise, bend over... Cuz it's gonna cost ya......

Will I be able to pass emissions without cats?

About the emission with the catless issue. I am planning to get the catless midpipes but I don't want to get caught by the police. So, I am planning to have someone to welding to add the fake cats on it to trick the police to think it have the cats. :D

Lots of good advice here.Being short on available funds to do the mods I wanted,I just sat back and read about what others were doing for really high horsepower.I am sooooooooooo glad I didn't have the money to do anything except small mods !!
I have a K&N drop-in,cat delete with stock muffler (great sound, low cost),and a Stage 2.Add in CalTracs, lowering, and better headlight bulbs and I am pretty happy.Being an average working guy and not having the deep pockets of some on here I had to get the mostest for the leastest :D
Just a thought on the C5 Z06...........for the best performance for the $$$$$$$$,it can't be beat,BUT it isn't a truck ;)

Best bang for the buck my paxton setup I have with a magnaflow catback;) That should yield you at least 550rwhp on a QC:D The best part is with the catback you would still be under 5k:rock: If I had it all to do over again I would definatly pickup a used SC and saved myself thousands of dollors to begin with:(

You can blow any thing you want into a motor (engine), and it will go faster. How long and how fast is up to you? Ever tried pure oxygen?
This sight has taught me to stick with the simple things first. Tires. When you drop the clutch at 5 grand and your front end lifts up like you have never experienced before? Traction is the first word. Expensive? Yes. bobbymac

Well i have the same truck, and here's my advice after having a Roe Supercharger... don't.

For what you pay and the gains you get from a supercharger save your money for something else,, our trucks will never be fast so face it.. i had to pay 10K to realize that.

Now don't get me wrong these trucks are fast in the RC version but were talking about a 2006 QC.. only turbo's can help you. :D

I am getting a Roe for my 06 RC. You feel differently about adding a Roe or any SC to a RC?

1: fast is such a relative term... I've seen a few posts saying the trucks will never be fast... running a low 13 in a ~3 ton truck seems fast to me running in the 10's seems ridiculously fast for a QC.
2: the biggest bang for buck is the NOS I doubt many will disagree with that
3: put in high flows and don't worry about headers especially if you're N/A... I currently have catless and not only are both trucks too loud ... one of them smells pretty bad:p
4: have an end goal... don't drop in a filtercharger then 2 months later decide you want f/i
5: I agree with what most of the people posted up start with the following
a: DC Flast
b: 170 t-stat
c: NOS
d: magnaflows and high flow mids
e: k&n drop in
after that... consider a drop kit... and qa1 shocks <I believe JMB justin can get you these... or boomer for the drop kit <if he's still around>

P.S. you will never be able to beat EVERY ricer out there... I've seen evo's outrun 800rwhp vipers:p

Lots of great advice here. Like HotRam said, read a lot before you buy. Have a long term game plan so you dont waste cash. I have been very happy with my results. You have a qc so with that in mind.

drop in filter or JMB setup
catless mids
magnaflow
DC stage 2 or SCT
drop shackles
caltracs

That should get your started.

Alright here's the plan:
Chill stock for a bit while my warranty is still good. Then...

1) JMB CAI & CC
2) Basanni headers
3) High low cats
4) Magnaflow CB
5) 172 tstat
6) X-metal TB
7) Stage 2 PCM
8) Caltracs
9) Tune

I plan on doing it all at pretty much the same time. Would you reccomend 3in pipes?:dontknow:
After that I'll see where I stand.... probably go for a little bit of No2:D and start on my visual mods.

Your plan looks good....2 things....the stage 2 and tune are basically the same...get the SCT and you can download tunes and more....the Magnaflows are 3" so that settles your question on the pipe size...

Stage II PCM comes first otherwise you wasting your time, the Stage II will do more than the other 8 combined. Get the stage II, throw on the bolt-ons the go get your final tune.
