Well i've been getting a little detnation.. i'm changing spark plugs.. and getting JMB's catch can..... my question is..... what else can i do? i cannot hear the truck detnate i can just see the top of the pistons with a bore scope.. any dieas on what can help some more? or should the catch can be good..

You need a A/F ratio monitior if you don't have one and for now you need to have a wideband monitor hooked to it under crusing, part throttle and full throttle as well as nitrous runs and see whether she's going lean. I suspect that to be the problem. Dyno tunes don't really load the truck for real world street conditions and A/F could be off for the street.:D P.S. YOu wouldn't hear it detonate over that loudass exhaust!

Long term, you need to correct your tune.

In the short term, you need to run higher octane gas or add some octane booster.

Do you still have the stock pistons? Detonation will kill the hell out of the stock pistons. Get this fixed asap.;)

thanks fellas and no sir i'm completely forged cam heads yadayada... the works.. guess i'lltry tp get the truck down to A.R.T to see if shes going lean on the dyno under my N2o pulls

Go to Shane and have an extra O2 bung welded in about under the your feet in the exaust on one side. Give me a holler and I can hook up my wideband and get some readings for ya.

i've been thinking about doing meth.. but it's pointless when i spray the giggle juice

Wade. Listen man. You absolutely need an AF monitor. Mine is an AEM and works excellent. Also, I promise you, you wont fix anything running it on a dyno. These trucks are mosterously heavy.......the dyno wont make your truck detonate like the street will. The dyno doesnt know if its testing a miata or a peterbilt so the load on the truck wont be near the load it sees on the street.......NOW, if they have a load control on the dyno, AND they know how to USE it, then try the dyno route...................but still get an AF montor. Trust me you need it, and you have way too much $$$$ in that motor to hurt it. Cya, Robert

i've emailed a few people "David at ART the guy who built my motor" and am seeing what they want to do about it to double check to maken sure everythings ok.... i think what started causing this was a bad batch of race gas i got

How do the plugs look? Do you have anything to record KS?

plugs look fine.... kinda dirty but no blow by and tan ish color

No disrespect, but it sounds like you could be panicing over something that's really not there. KS is knock sensor, and its important to check it if you can...not always 100%, but it does help to keep an eye on it. Also, no peppering or anything on the plugs is a good thing.

i'm not panicing but i am worried.. cause it never been tuned on nitrous i have a dummy tune for -4 degrees and thats it... never been on the dyno spraying.. i just want to make sure... i've needed a catch can for a while and i finally got one.. an by the looks of it just driving it today there is a bunch of junk that was returning into the intake.... i'm just making sure... i got a bad batch of gas and the pass side of my exhaust started making weird ass noise's and would clear up and then return back.. so again i'm just double checking hahaha

For sure, better to be safe then sorry....I hear ya. Definitely invest in a a/f wideband and something to "monitor". 500 bucks could save a lot of money in the end ;)
