DFW let's support a good cause.

Not much better for a mans heart than doing good things for worthy causes...you've done a lot of that.

Thanks, Roy. This needy situation touched my heart and I was blessed to be a part of it. Like you said, it's good for the heart (and the soul) to give back a little.
God bless,
Larry

hey all... i just wanted to chime in being a newbie and all.. i met this guy this past weekend with a camera at a car show i put on, this guy came up to me wanting to help out by taking pictures of the show and offered his services for later events. i'm like..ok sure, as he walks away, mind my goes to work thinking, just another guy trying to make money off these special kids, and i go about my busy day, bumping into this guy off and on all day, i never really dedicated myself that i would really use him, but he stayed around, taking pictures..all day.
i am thinking, whats up with this guy, he is just going to keep on wasting his film, i dont need yet someone else seeing dollars, i go about my biz, at the end of the day, i'm talking to this guy, he took pictures of everything..he didnt miss a thing.. i was impressed, but, still in the back of my mind, negative thoughts.
by days end, after bumping into this guy all day, getting a reading of him as a person and reading his eyes and face, i was very wrong, not the normal guy, as most of you know, larry has a good heart, thats it.. he didnt ask for any money to send me pix of the show like i was expecting, wasnt trying to sell pictures to anyone, he just did it to help, just like he said at the first of the day.
very impressive character, attitude, very impressive man. he met with some people where he will ,as will most everyone involved, benefit by helping with this cause.
mr maupin, i cant show enough appriciation to you for just having such a good soul. so many people see these kids as an oppurtunity to make money.dont get me wrong, nothing wrong with making money, everyone has to survive, but to me, its the intent.
i appoligize for assuming, but i have allowed myself to get this way due to dealing with so many people that see dollars instead of kids.
i will post up the info on the little boy we raised the money for
i am so glad you joined in with our small family of friendsthat help with this
and i am so looking forward to working with you in future projects of mine

Great message Tim. Interesting to see the progression of your thoughts. The amazing thing is that there are dozens of guys (and a couple of gals) just like him that hang around this forum. :D

in the bottom picture has my daughter in it along with my wife and i, if it wasnt for my wife, this show would have never happened, which it almost didnt. my daughter is what made this whole thing begin anyways.
she has multiple brain deformaties, had brain surgury at 14 months, and that is what started everything, from getting me away from the cut throat life of dealerships, to saving my marriage and allowing my son to be advanced. these problems she has to endure has blessed alot of people

Very nice. I'm glad this event took place. Good things happening for good people.

Jeff

Larry congratulations on 1st Place, I wish I'd been there to cheer you on! I'm almost done with this move, you can count on me and Spousal Unit for the next event for sure.

Yes, welcome, Tim. Glad you are here to keep us posted on progress and events.
We call this the RBC - red button club - for the red starter button on the 10s. If you're going to hang around here, we'll have to help get you one :D
Take care,
Larry

Tim,

I apologize for not making it out to your car show. I actually posted the details on this site. Unfortunately a family emergency called me to Maryland this weekend and I was unable to attend.

It's a good thing I didn't make it, though. Larry wouldn't have a trophy if I had been in town.
