Did they up the HP and TQ for 06 ?

I just looked, seems your correct. Common sense tells us that if the vipers have the increased HP and torque, the trucks would have the same numbers. I cant imagine they tune the truck engines differently?

BAH - no real changes IMO.

When the '06 ZO6 came out and they started the new way of testing to determine the HP, the Vette ended up at 505. Well, the Dodge boys couldn't have that. So they retested the Viper engine, the new way, and got the slight increase to 510/535. Bragging rights is all. I guess they finally updated the Ram's specs.:dontknow:

Now all they need to do is actually make the Viper faster than the ZO6.;)

No vipers for 07:p new 650hp viper in 08:D

the probably changed the timing a tad to get the extra 5hp or so like the hammer said to and extra little bump:D

Well I just took a look at the Dodge Website ( http://www-5.dodge.com/vehsuite/VehicleCompare.jsp ) under Specifications for the SRT 10 Ram and they claim 510 HP and 535 TQ listed under Powertrain... maybe I misunderstood:dontknow:
Might explain my good Dyno #'s:idea:
When I clicked on that page and selected Ram SRT10, under specs I found this:
500 horsepower
525 lb-ft of torque
8.3-liter V10 Viper engine
Six-speed manual transmission with Hurst shifter
22-inch polished-aluminum wheels available
Dual exhaust
508-watt Infinity® sound system

You just have to dig deeper.

i thought they upped the horsepower for the extra weight and the stiffer frame

Due to the Z06 information released, dodge re-dyno'ed the gen 3 motor, and it has then been re certified with the new current numbers. Nothing was accomplished to increase the generation 3 block, just a re-dyno.

Different SAE calculation or something like that. Just a different formula being used across the board.

Like Red stated, this is a new HP certification when they Dyno the engines, GM did that with the Z06 as before the Z was 500, with the new procedures and certs on the Dyno it went to 505hp. DC just did the same thing on the V-10..
