Can you give any more information? Any difference between hot and cold?

mopower1958 said:If it is an '04 Dodge it has a black plastic lift pump mounted to the rear of the filter housing. It is no longer serviceable by Dodge or Cummins. If the lift pump goes bad you have to get the fuel pump kit from Dodge that goes in the tank. The intake heater will not cause a slow start in ambient air temp of 50 or warmer. There is a TSB from Dodge on the electronic fuel pressure regulator that bolts in on the side of the high pressure fuel pump. It is either that regulator or he has an injector that is bleeding off fuel pressure. The commonrail Cummins runs 23,000 psi on the fuel lines and fuel rail. If an injector is bleeding that pressure off it will make it slow to start.
