Difference between 04/05 and 06 engine/well?

Hopefully this isn't a repost, but I'm looking at a K&N and I'm curious, I thought the 06 engine was the same as the 04/05, are they not interchangeable?

K&N drop in and Airchanger the same for all 3 years of SRT Ram. The airchanger for the viper is different from the ram though.

Only difference that I remember were the knock sensors were added to the 05/06 models. Other then that they are the same.

The DC Performance Tune is different for the '06 QC versus the '05 QC. I assume that's indicative of addressing a difference of some type between the two.

Yep, sure did but with knock sensors having been posted as a difference on a posting prior to mine, thread alread hijacked and I posted another difference.

will work but you must remount your gateway module on the 06. its mounted on the 2nd battery tray and with the K&N the battery tray is removed... not a big deal...

FWIW -- from the K&N website

19.12 HP @ 4867 RPM" They have a dyno sheet on the site

Installed it on mine not even considering the advertised hp gain. I just wanted the sound . It does seem quicker - 20hp quicker?? who knows but it sounds like a freight train between the CAI and the Borla -- OMG have mercy - This part is really for an 04, 05 SRT-10 but will fit an '06.

Correctomundo - Just mount the gateway module to the back of the K&N backing plate - no biggy.

anyway -I love mine and will never have enough mula for a ROE - different strokes for different folks -- It makes me smile and that's good enough for me

I have the K&N and love it... maybe one day I'll put the stocker intake back on and run it down the track to see the difference.
