Do I need to winterize?

I bought my '06 QC Night Runner from a dealer in Florida. About to park it for the winter, just would like some input as to whether or not I need to get the car prepped for the cold winter (NY) i.e winterized? :dontknow:

of course here in tx. don't have a problem with cold temps, but i would park it in a position where you could possbly run it every now and then? keep the tank full to keep condensation down and put some fuel stabilizer in the tank.also a trickle charger on the battery.

yeah i would also change the oil right before so if there is any dirt in there it doesent just sit and gunk up fresh oil in the motor and pan is always a good thing

i change the oil, trickle charge the battery, test the antifreeze to make sure it is still good and also full, and i also fill the tank with 93 and a bottle of fuel keeper. other than that theres really nothin else to do

To add to the ideas already posted, I'd start and run the engine for at least 5 minuites once a week.

and when you start it, move it a couple feet front to back to get fresh oil on all the trans and rear components. otherwise the gears facing up and out of the oil will get pit marks and weaken them

Would add to some of the suggestions:

Top off the tank every time you start it...don't allow room for condensation in the fuel tank...small gas can will get it done.

Beware mice...they love to nest in unmoving vehicles.

Use a good car (truck) cover (I have Griot's) and be sure drafts don't cause it to rub on the same spot all winter.

Plan on doing those things that would cause you to park the truck during the nice months. I plan to send the wheels off to Goodrich for plating, and the headers off to be coated...

I rub a lot during the winter...lots of polish and wax.

Spay against corrosion ?
Some minor heating ?

Bubble....:rock: :rock: a balloon you can drive you're car in which is held on pressure by a small ventilator.... ( computer types ) ... i have one for my Harley..... keeps it dry and dust free :rock: :rock:

I live in Alberta and i drove mine all last winter without any problems, althought i never took it on the highway just all city stuff, Max 80km/h.
