mmmmtorque said:No, you dont have to remove the heads to replace the cam. After you remove the push rods and spark plugs you can rotate the crank. The cam will push the lifters to their highest point (and stay there)....you should be able to remove and install the new cam with the lifters in. I have seen it done on tv as well as Boomer has done a couple I believe. I replaced my lifters during my install.
