Dang it.....I was about a mile from home when I punched it in 2nd gear at about 30mph....tires blazed squeeled for mercy putting a big smile on my face....till I let off the gas and noticed the steering felt funny...:argh: .........amazing how fast a temp gauge can climb when you are trying to make it home.....and the steering...the steering wheel was cracking & popping as I negotiated the turns...mainly because it took all i had to turn the thing......came to a 4 way stop and the engine quit...temp was at 250 and climbing................pulled off and sat for 30 minutes.....did a last rush up hill all the way home for about half a mile............:(

Yeah...I was amazed at how fast it climbed...went from 180 to 250 in less than half a mile.....when I stopped I got out and turned the pump pulley to try and circulate some water...
I hope that motor is ok

Restarted and sounded fine after I let it cool down to about 210....surprised it did not get over 230 on the last leg home...almost half a mile...
Thats good, What cause the belt to pop off?

It never got into the red mark on the guage but was about to go onto it...went to 260+ when I turned the engine off but cooled down when I started spinning the water pump pulley..

I think it was just the fast rev of the engine then abruptly letting off the gas.......the SC pulley is far up from the other pulleys....probably need another tensioner like Bone has or maybe try a shorter belt...that belt only had about 2000 miles on it...:(

Did you see how black viper has his pulley set up? Is that the same as bone's?

It is a solid piece vs. stock open piece in the middle. Enabled an extra tensioner. Bought the tensioner from Sean Roe. He may still have the bracket design? Maybe fab one up for you? It was based on his first SC try.

Slippage isn't an issue with this bracket. Still have the same belt too.

He's in today.

I am sure more others may want one too if slippage is an issue.
