I was just wondering if this is normal on our trucks. I dont know what it is so if someone could let me know what it is/does that would be great.

Like Itch said, that is just there to hold in place while you are tightening the bolt. Doesnt matter which way it is pointing.

It could be part of the factory tie down for shipping. Looks like you could slip a chain link on and when pulling down it can't come loose. ??????

its a nut with a tab pressed over it, if you look in the hole where the nut is supose to be.....you'll notice you cant get a wrench in there...ur truck has several all around the front clip, dun matter if RC or QC
