This was so simple I just had to pass along the info in case somebody else is thinking about changing out your door speakers.
Almost a year ago I purchased 6 speakers from Azpyroguy (Scott). They came and one was damaged via shipping. So Scott being sharp and had the parcel insured, contacted Fed X and got them to replace a set. Cool!!
Crutchfield sends me the new ones and then I store on a shelf for 10 months! :dontknow: LOL
For some reason I pulled the box out today and started reading about how to install. Crutchfield included some instruction sheets and whadda you know, the door panel comes off with 4 phillips head screws and 1 t30 torque bit screw. A slight pull up of the panel reveals two wire harness plugs that came out quite easily (xcept for power mirror one....was a bitch to get it to let go). The panel is free, no panel tool required here. The speaker comes out with 4 screws, no problems. I used the Crutchfield supplied Chrysler adaptor plugs which had to be modified since the smaller one would not fit onto the speaker. This was no biggie and requried very little amount of McGuyver like skills!! LOL:rock:
4 screws to intall speaker, replug in panel plugs, 5 more screws and your done. This takes less time than drinking a beer......cept of course if you gotta drinking problem......LOL
Repeated for the other side and then fired up radio. Bass response is much better now. Cant wait to do the two in the dash and the rears.
For those of your whom are in the know. The dash piece that your supposed to pry up is the flat piece down by the window correct? Pry up and slide back to release?
For the rears, do you have to take out the sub box and utility tray to get to the speakers on the sides?
thx
patrick
