the actual driving will be saturday, right?
Ok this is some info for those that have never been to what I call "Deals Gap"
others call it "The Dragon"
Whether you come in from Pigeon forge or from the Asheville side, its both the same, the closer you get , the less you see, no stores , houses, people, nothing but road and woods.
When you enter the Dragon, it becomes 318 curves in only 11 miles, twisting turning, swapping ends,
THE ROAD IS VERY VERY DANGEROUS , i cant emply that enough
Some places you can see the curve in front of you, sometimes the next.
the only help i can give everyone is from bike racing,
NEVER look at the curve you are going into, always look ahead at the exit or the next curve, actually as far ahead as you can.
ALWAYS expect the unexpected! ALWAYS expect something to be comming around the next curve at you! YOU WILL be tempted to cross the line, and sometimes want have a choice
Running the Dragon is a ton of fun, but we must be careful
Most likely we will have toset it up to where a couple goes thru at a time.
But I am sure the first time thru we will jsut do a parade of all of us thru so everyone can get accustom to it.
I would think that most will get there saturday around noon.
We all say hi, meet and greet, and have a lunch.
then do a drive thru, and have a little fun:rock:
there is tons and tons and tons of places for some awesome pics , so bring your cleanig supplies:marchmellow: :marchmellow:
there is on the lower part of the mt, a nice place to hang near the stream, as well as some at the fontana dam.
that is one reason i may try to make it friday afternoon, there is some neat pplaces to jsut hang
but i figure saturday afternoon, or night, we will do a campfire, have some grub, drink and tell a ton of lies
and talk about how hot Bad RC's woman is
and who knows , maybe even a night run:rock:
they were always a blast:argh: :argh: :argh:
So iwould bring a cooler, stock it with drinks, water, beer if youwant,
ALOT OF FOOD, THE FOOD THERE IS EXPENSIVE
Steaks, chicken, whatever you want to bring, and plenty of camera film.
