Driveshaft Question????

Texas Yellow Fever said:
I don't think a dented driveshaft would vibrate unless whatever dented it knocked a weght off. I dent would not change the the weight of the rotating mass, would it?

Well two things can happen. One is it bends. The second is if the dent is enough that it affects the CG or rotational center.

First see if there's a damper, if you don't have one a would bet just about anything thats your problem

Shhhhheeeeesh, since we've had this discussion before, it was the least I could do. ;) ;) :p :D

I go for at least one quality post out of every 1000 ;)

Well I am having the guy double and triple check for me but he said his cost on a brand new driveshaft from dodge was $165:dontknow: He even used my vin# so it should be right. Makes me feel much better:D

Kyle, many shops will not fix a dented drive shaft due to liability. Especially in a high performance vehicle. Silverback is correct in advising to buy a new one...

Hey...Stinker...maybe this would be a good opportunity for another group buy from DTS...do you have the time? Soon more and more of us will be looking to replace first u-joints, then drive shafts...maybe you can get out front on this and identify the best way to go, and we could go through you to get the item...just trying to build your business "Stinkers Best Way to Go".

thanks Prof, will check in on it bro:rock:
