Lately I am noticing it seems that one side of my truck is lower than the other. Its a small amount, but i notice it, and its bugging me. I am thinking it might be the POS x-metal shocks, or could it be something else???

they all will sooner or later, , for one all the wieght is on the drivers side, the driver, and the fuel tank , so after a bit the springs will retain a memory of all the weight and sag to one side, but you would be better off with the bilsteins up front, you would have to change out the rear on a qc, the oem bilsteins will not fit if you have a flipped rear axle.

but shocks do nothing as far as raising or lowering a vehicle, all they do is absorb impact, only an air shock will actually raise a vehichle

I believe it is the drivers side that is a touch lower, so in the rear im stuck with the crap x-metal shocks, was getting ready to replace them with bilsteins, but i guess thats not an option. i do notice the front has been rough on bumps lately. for reference my x-metal 2-4 drop has about 30k on it.

yessir change out the front, now on the rear we use a belltech nitro, it seems to hold up really well, and not bad on the wallet, but still more than a set of monroe magnums, be careful on your choice, some are good , some jst dont last long

do ya notice it with a full load of fuel more????

battery, a/c comp., brake stuff, p/s pump are on the steerin wheel holder side also

I will keep an eye on it, its got about 3/4 tank now, I'll see what happens as it gets lower on fuel

I found a set of 4 belltech nitros for lowered 2wd ram 1500's, should i go with the whole set of 4 or just do rears, and throw bilsteins up front?

thanks, and now the question is how does one go about re-arching the rear leaf spring?
any drop shop worth a damn should be able to help you with this..... my drop shop pulled my springs & sent them to the local spring company (oregon spring) who took care of the arch change....... i would check wih a local drop shop you trust. :)

I will have to do some searching then, I have done all the work on my srt myself, been burned before by shops with previous cars.

on the shocks thing, i tried another brand in my truck - hated them..... :(

put bilsteins back in, 100% better. :)

but I cant run them in the rear with the 4 inch drop, I guess bilsteins will work up front though with the 2 inch drop spring.

contact any place that works on commercial trucks, big rigs, they will know where there are spring places in your area buddy

AIr bags. Helper bags to be exact. 20 psi on the left 15 on the right. takes the stress off the spring helps cushion the ride also. ANd the real reason I put them on, they help you hook a hell of alot better with the cal-tracs.;) :burnout: :burnout: :star:

Did you measure the frame to ground clearance? I recall seeing a procedure for this in the service manual. Is the lean more noticeable from the front or the rear or equal in both directions? I haven't noticed a lean on my 10. But my SRT-8 had a very noticeable lean to the drivers side -- dealer replaced the rear coils 2x to try and level it out. They improved it a lot but it still had a slight lean even though the frame rail measurements all checked out OK.

The reason for why the truck leans more to one side is Dodge does this on purpose for the reason of when you torque up the driveline everything lines up perfectly, they did this years ago on the muscle cars,it seems that it is more noticable on the QC's.
