Does anyone know of a device that can be added to our trucks to generate DRL's (Daytime Running Lamps)? I've always been fond of how late model GM's have theirs in the parking lamp/turn signal lights. That bright amber glow is cool (to me).

If a device doesn't exist, does anyone know of a way to re-wire the truck so that the 2nd (brighter) element of the turn signal bulb will light up when the truck is on??

Thanks!

there is a setting in your tipm to turn on headlamps for DRL's

I don't want the headlamps to come on, I want the amber part of my headlights - like GM does. :)

just leave the parking light switch on all the time ----they turn off automatically after 5 minutes and will turn back on all by themselves when you get back in the truck :)

I understand that (everyone) . . . :)

I want the second, brighter element in the amber bulb to stay lit continuously. (like when the turn signals/flashers are activated, but constantly "on")

:)

i thought drl are reqired on all cars shiped into canada. the jeep cherokees had an add on box that was added. the way they work is when you move over 15 mph the box sends only 5 volts to headlights (not full power).

DRL are manditory on Canadian vehicles. I brought my RC up from Texas and had to have them working to get the truck registered. Took it to the local Dodge dealer they put it on there scanner and I think installed a relay. Not sure the proper terms for there scanners. Took only a couple minutes and $70, they must pay there guys about $350 per hour.:D

On all vehicles here in Canada the lights are on as soon as the key is turn on, not after 15 mph.

They viper tech that turned my DRL's on had flipped the switch in the computer but still couldn't get them to come on. I suggested releasing the parking brake and that's when they came on.

my dodge dealer plugged in his little laptop box thing, they didnt turn on until i shut the truck off and started it back on without the parkbrake on. very quick very easy. then after the fedreal and provincial inspection is done and its registered go turn them off again and leave the lights in the middle for the park lights only:)
