Dyno!!!! SCT and Stock

My truck dynoed 402 bone stock at X-Metal gtg. He dynoed 20 trucks that day the strongest stocker was 428 hp. Both those numbers are for an R/C, Q/C numbers were considerably lower, as low as 358 hp.
I would say your stock numbers are pretty damn impressive.

mine was 446hp with the k&n thats it, and most of the trucks i have heard of are between 420 and 440 stock.

I noticed a pretty good improvement driving around town (where the low rpm advance in the timing would help) but a drag race is ran down there only once down the strip, right? I dunno I'm sure once the fat AF ratio beyond 4000 is raised to a healthy 13 or so I should see big gains right? :dontknow: :dontknow:

30 hp in low end means ur off the line quicker, better 60' times and overall 1/4 mile times

tune

Remember guys, it is just a TUNE! You won't get a 75 hp gain from a tune. It will improve the drivability and maybe be more efficient, but that is it. the SCT will benefit when you get the power adders like headers , cam and bigger injectors or supercharging ,by being able to change the tune to adapt and compliment the power adders. It is the most important part of modding!! you can adjust your tune to perfect the mods!!:burnout: :burnout: :burnout:

Exactly...............The stage two flash from DC Perf or even the Mopar unit give you the biggest gains when you have an aftermarket exhaust, headers, cat delete and with the mopar unit, their cam. So whether its a flash or an SCT tune its gonna be the sum of your mods that give you the better gains.

So delete those cats and or get some headers and you'll get more out of your SCT tune.

If yours is 446 stock, you are a very lucky guy !!!

my bone stock 04 dynoed right around there, perhaps a little higher....i would check my sheet, but im still in Iraq....all i know is that i was extremely happy and mopar connection (robert) could not believe my stock AF ratio..

I sure hope I feel a difference when I plug mune in!But I totally understand that usung it to fine tune after mods is tha whole reason I bought one,and also for how easy it is to change tunes and reload into truck.

i think every truck is different and to get the most out of it you need a one on one dyno session with someone who knows how to tune it. Marty got me about 25 hp and 40+ ft lbs at the wheels over my stock tune. Granted I have LT's but the difference on the street is night and day.

Also remember that Max numbers won't change much. However you will see gains in the lower RPM band. i.e. 30 HP change at 3500 RPM. You will see larger gains on QC's due to TRQ mangement and timing.

I disagree, if you look at the A/F you can see that it basically followed the stock curve + 300 rpm. There is a lot to be had there I shouldn't see sub 12 A/F ratio between 4500-6k.

The tunes don't do too much for the RC, now with the QC it is a different story. I just got rid of my cats and didn't have my flash updated yet. Then the SCT deal came out. So I hope to see a little more improvement.

DC performance has a dyno sheets of an RC and a QC. Just to show the difference in the two beast.

Hey Wyoramsrt=10 can you post copies of the rc/qc comparison dc has

DC Performance posted about it and I tried looking for it for a little bit and could not find it, I know it is there somewhere. I think it was in the DCparts.net part. And I think it might the QC one might be hiding on my computer somewhere.

Now what you need to do is get the truck back on a dyno and get Marty on the phone. He can make changes to the AF and email it to you. The SCT is a great out of the box mod. But each truck is different. You really need to get a dyno tune with the SCT.
