Dyno Tuning

Mine was 420 at the wheels on a dynojet, completly stock with a CAI. Hoping for closer to 600 now, with the full exhaust and 150 shot. It did 542 on a 150shot before the exhaust work, and the X-Metal TB. Good luck hope Ya hit 700!

It depends who tunes it, ive seen "tuners" that pick up little to nothing. On a stock truck, a good tuner will pick up 25+ WHP and 40+ WTQ. My truck is bolt ons and tune and is 485/526 NA, I never dynoed stock but we started around 460/480 before tuning. If Greg did your heads and it has a good camshaft grind and a good tuner, you should make at least 530/560, most likely more if they are getting everything out of the combo. You have some very vague details though: bigger valves, raised compression, custom cam, those dont really tell me anything. Whats the cam specs, true compression, details on the heads, etc. etc.

The 500 hp was marketing puffery. A stong stock engine would dyno 410 to 440 at the rear wheels. 500 at the crank from a good engine was possible.

A few of us got strong stock engines (luck of the draw). Mine was 468 rwhp stock...but that was unusually high.

Thats odd because I was told every viper motor since genII has been dynoed, I know for sure every 08' motor is dyno tested...

what would you expect with a stcok truck just from dyno tuning with the sct?.....my truck will hit the rollers tomorrow around noon an im just trying to get a picture of what to expect with my set up

OOPSS!!

I thought you were asking just for power numbers on a STOCK TRUCK (Not with your setup.....)
JMB Justin's guesstimate looks close to realistic to me, with your mods....
IF your nitrous cam is low overlap AND you have "bumped compression", and you live near sea-level, your tune(r) may need to be sharp.

Before or after install?

wade mine was 486hp and 525ft lbs with out the headers and the SCT, that was just rear cat delet 170 thermostat and magnaflow, i never dyno'd it after the headers and SCT

Before, I am trying to find the video of viper assembly where I though the guy talk about it...

..I cant find it, but he talk about a lawsuit agaist gm about the hp output of the vette motor, and then he went into detail about how each motor was hand built, no robots durring assembly, and each engine was dynoed and check for leaks...

Ah, before could well be 500 hp...but reduce that by 12-16 % for wheel hp and you have the difference.

Wow, you had a strong one!!

well i dont have the specs in front of me but i try not to tell all my stuff i got done to it lol ..but the compression ratio is right at a 10 if i rember corectly it has a 3 angle valve job..port an polished heads portmatched motor...i dont have specs on the cam but its a grind off of the comp cam 270....the intake is ported an polished....ill post the came specs when i get home

whats your intake, stock, Justin, K&N, Volant & your exhaust, stock system, cat back, cat deleate, headers??????

stock intake my K&N cai got stolen an no headers an all cats are gone an it flows threw a manga flow

May the guy that stole your c.a.i. rot slowly in hell...

IF you do get headers, I'd be curious to know what kind of an increase you get/got now that you have increased flow with the head & cam combo...thanks...

nah i really didnt like the K&N i was more pissed about my wing getting pryed off the truck..anyway i will be getting headers just i ran out of money from the build an bills i had to pay lol but i will sure post numbers my dyno time has been cancled for tomorrow but i still might try to find a place to dyno it

I didn't like my K&N cold air kit either, I couldn't get it off fast enough..

Some asshole pried your wing off? That is a new low.....

B&B headers are stupidly expensive here and I would also have to spring for different extensions to be able to run the hi-flows with the headers. I.O.W. 3 grand to do that on top of the $3600 already invested in their system from the manifolds back. All that for minor power gains (with headers)...More fun to race without, at this point.

Are you planning on putting on a ROE on your engine?

You should easly be up to 550rwhp 560 tq..

Here is my Stock Runs, I think the only thing I had done here was the air filter removed from the stock box.
