Engine Temp 245

They are. And no codes show up. http://www.belangerheaders.com/home/vehicles/04%27-06%27%20RAM%20SRT%20STD%20CAB.asp That's exactly what my header gasket looks like. The gaskets for the mid-pipes are the fabric/paper kind, am I only able to get aftermarket ones for this or are there any OEM ones I can buy? They are need of being changed too!

go with the OEM MLS exhaust manifold gaskets. i run Comtic gaskets. no probs.

& some nice solid copper gaskets out there. Belanger says to run high temp sillycon for the collector. did not last long. went with copper gaskets. no prob

does our ECM's log a high temp code & if so what temp trips it?????

I'm just in the process of changing plugs. Gaskets don't have any black areas. Going to be using digital stethoscope soon. But when I took the right bank (pass.) side plugs out, they all were gapped at .042" but showed normal wear signs.... I thought they were supposed to be .035? Torque is 20 ft/lbs?

Any ideas?

.035 should be right. went to .045 when i installed Strinker's coils.

a dab of anti-seize is a good idea.

not sure on the torque. there are specs here some where.

might put a wrench on the header bolts & make sure they are tight

Hey oldcolt that would be the passenger side. I have had a p0307 come up before (panicked) but assumed I'd try to see if it'll come back first in case it was not a potential, so I cleared it. It's been 4 months now and haven't had any CEL since then. And no I'm 8 hours west from there.

From what I've gathered is that..

0w40 syn makes for more noise. ATF syn in tranny makes for more noise. Headers makes for more noise and rattle... with those combined... make it the "normal" for the combination?

I cant open the video for some reason, but just wondering how you are 8 hours west of Vancouver?

I apologize for that, *north. hahaha.... wow..

try right clicking it, save as. Anyone else have trouble opening it?

Figured it was either east or north. Where exactly is the fire at? We had smoke roll in about 3 days ago here.

I heard on the radio it's coming from the Cariboo Region. We still have smoke here... and people are riding bikes with masks on.

Note. Stethoscope tells that engine sounds fine, but where the 3 pipes from the belangers meet into one, (pass side) directly in the middle is where this disturbing sound is coming from.

But the spark plug gaps... It's just stock as far as I'm concerned.. why would the previous owner run colder plugs? Does this have any affect of where it may have been located? May be a silly question, but curious why it wasn't set to specs.

Just an update. I finally got the drivers side plugs done. And wouldn't ya know.. I always knew I heard a misfire... no code... and this is what I find for plug #7

Also had a small vacuum leak and would explain my weak brakes. Every things back in tip top shape. Next month, the new plug on #7 comes out for verification. I think I might have a bad injector for it to build up like that. The rest of the plugs showed signs of normal wear.

Wow, that plug looks nasty. I'm going to change out my plugs today, before I go to the dyno this afternoon. What is the mark on the header pipe closest to the firewall?
So, have we narrowed it down.....your in PG?:D :D

thats different:dontknow: :dontknow: :dontknow:

probably be a good idea to go with a set of Stinker's plug wires & coils  :burnout:  :burnout:  :burnout:

from what i have read here, probably be a good idea to Sea Foam your engine. supposed to be some great suff & able to clean out a 6" sewer pipe.

the build up on the valve stems from the oil that gets into the intake from the breather system can be nasty.

i love the Amsoil inj. cleaner P.I.

That would be my ABS wire and lots of hot spotting, oldcolt. The headers will have to get some welding and powder coating now! PG..yuck! :)

Thanks for the suggestions ZCx!

J: My plugs looked good. Put in NKG's. Did my dyno runs, I still need Torrie to sort out the tune. No PG? WL or Q?

That's good news! What octane you tuned for? It was PG, but my statement about it still remains the same. Finally can see the sky!

I have 91 and 93 octane tunes from Torrie (Unleashed Tuning).:D :D
