Ethics Question

Fatty goes on a rapid weight loss plan...

And the one dude is hosed.

Wasn't that hard for me to make the choice/decision, that's the benefit of being a true sociopath! :top:

It is not mine to decide who lives or dies! I would choose not to choose and let fate happen!!

Yes, because I hate fat people...

...wouldn't the right thing to do be to jump in front of the trolly and save everyone, then die a "hero"??? Thats the only answer that doen't leave you with any guilt, cause your dead!

Why do you hate fat people?

Why do you say you hate fat people?

And I am with Hucksrt10, but I am warped.

Then how about this?

As before, a trolley is hurtling down a track towards five people. You are on a bridge under which it will pass, and you can stop it by dropping a heavy weight in front of it. As it happens, there is a very fat man next to you - your only way to stop the trolley is to push him over the bridge and onto the track, killing him to save five. Should you proceed?

Would that Fat Man be.... Roktman?

:D :D

I love Stumbling!!! I Stumble all the time!!!

ME TOO!!!!! ..... Wait... We're not talking about drinking are we.

Call ahead on your cell phone and have someone untie the poor bastards from the track. ..... Gotta love technology. :congrats:

My real answer to this will have to be located in the offensive section...
~BUT~
In WHAT frigg'n town can 6 people be tied to a track without some kind of intervention??? Do I plan to screw with someone that could arrange that kind of entertainment...? HELL NO!!!:dontknow:
But I would video tape it. Sell it, make a mint on the talk shows and then write a book on my suffering and trama...:D :D :D

But I would probably feel bad about it... :dontknow: :( :p

Is that wrong???:dontknow: :dontknow: :dontknow: :D

I think the only operating trolley system is in San Fransisco. So are we talking about any great loss except for being late to the Alcatraz tour? :dontknow::D

Nope, one in Kenosha, WI a small one in Tampa, Fort Smith, Little Rock, Memphis and others. I am consulting with a firm that is trying to establish more of them across the country...initial target Jacksonville, FL.

OK, you got me. I meant Cable Car. Are there any other cable car systems running?

There was a trolley system in New Orleans too but I don't know if it's back in service since Katrina.

Many of the trolley systems are proposing to use the "electric" approach...I am dubious about that, but as soon as we get the right batteries that would be killer! The system proposed for Jacksonville does use overhead electric power...

The concept of light rail is becoming much more popular now that fuel prices and the desire for green transportation has begun to grow...but if my dollars were involved...I would avoid being an early adopter!

WHAT???:dontknow:
I thought this was hypothetical. Not an F'n board meeting of mass transit sociopaths :dontknow:

You people scare me...:(

It is interesting how a conversation transforms. But it's Profs fault.:D

Orlando is implementing a Commuter Rail project as we speak. :)

Combined with their current mass transit bus system, it should be a good way to commute across town.

Here is the "Macro" planning segment for the big picture: http://www.metroplanorlando.com/home/
