Does anyone know if i will get any noticeable difference in sound if i just cut out the back muffler on a QC! I dont really have the money right now to do an exhaust, but i really just want to hear it more. I would just weld in some pipes in place of it. And if there will be a noticable difference, is it going to sound like crap? Ive heard flowmasters sound crappy on our trucks, is that true as well? Thanx.

The "muffler" at the rear of our trucks is a resonator. Your truck will be slightly louder, but you might end up with drone. You might be better off cutting out the school bus size muffler and adding a performance muffler in its place.

Cutting that resonator will make your stock exhaust sound better. Cut that thing and your rear 2 cats so you don't throw a check engine light and that should hold you over for a bit until you can afford something more. I'll find the link to my post of my exhaust. I have rear cats deleted, rear resonator deleted, and 2 generic brand mufflers in place of the stock huge ass muffler. Paid less than $300 for everything and I think it sounds pretty good for what it is. Sounds good driving and at wide open throttle too.

it will only throw codes if you remove all 4 cats. Other guys have tricks for how to get rid of the CEL

I have the same exact setup, but also a little switch that gives me instant straight pipes :D:D

If you dont want a code just put non foulers spark plug in your rear sensors and wont trow any code. Tjis is only of you wanna remove all four cats

Sounds really good for about $300.00. (I'd have guessed that cost a lot more!) Good work. Do you all have emissions testing in Clarksville?

Nope, no emissions testing in the county I live in. I got the exhaust work done in Tampa, FL, no testing in FL either. Some parts of TN have emissions testing, such as the county where Nashville is, but not Montgomery County.

yeah it's funny with my truck, took it to the exhaust shop and the guy was pumped to get to work on a SRT-10 so he wasn't really worried about making a bunch of money.

We have it Hamilton County. Seems I'm always dragging a vehicle through there. I hope to go with High flows eventually though. The magnaflow sounds nice and I love it. Its even pretty loud outside the truck, but I'd like to be able to hear it a little more from the drivers seat.
