....................ok..........I am looking for some ideas on what to do with my exhaust system.Currently I have catless mids,3" all the way,MagnaFlow cat-back. I am considering installing a set of good high-quality hi-flow cats and a set of 05 resonators to get it a bit more quiet without losing too much power.

If you have ANY ideas, thoughts, opinions about this or any other set-up please post them up. maybe two single MagnaFlows ? Other brand ? Cut-outs and stock muffler ? :dontknow: Long tube headers and B&B are too pricey just now.

Add some magnaflow resonators in your mids, they make 4", 5" and 6" round and 14-20" long. They will quiet it down without losing power or swapping a bunch of stuff out. They are pretty affordable too, PM me if your interested and I can shoot you a price or at least the part #'s.

I added the Magnaflow resonators in front of the muffler to alter the sound a little and am very happy...I did a full cat delete and have mopar long tube headers. While loud, it is deep and mellow...no uncomfortable or irritating vibrations.

Will need to add free flow cats in the next year for inspection...plan to clamp the cats in then remove after inspection, I am going to try to make the cats a swap for the resonators so every two years I can re-insert the cats for the inspection process.

Roy,
If you get a good set of high flows they'll flow just about as good as catless mids, so you could avoid all the swapping hassels and just leave them in. ;)

I am thinking of adding the hi-flows ( have a tentative deal on some now) AND the MagnaFlow resonators. If that doesn't get it quiet enough to avoid the Troopers,I'll go back to stock muffler with cut outs BTW,your truck looks GREAT !!!!!!!

You are probably right...I will talk to Boomer...I love the sound of the truck now and don't think the power loss will be significant. But it is too loud...so far I have not been hassled. I think the officers pass me by when they see that it is an old fart driving not a young stud...but I will have a problem some time.

Thanks for prodding my lame brain.

Of the Resonators? No...but as soon as it gets back from Detroit I will be able to get some for you. Remind me with a pm in two weeks and I will shoot some for you...

Thanks ! I HATE to do it but I am not going back to court if I don't have to.

( I did a wicked fly-by (Top Gun style ) [trying to catch up to a buddy of mine] on an off duty State Trooper standing by the side of the road last Sat and I am totally paranoid about driving it now/we had "issues" in the past,so I am thinking he will be looking for me and have the others doing the same ):(

One thing too you fellas can do and this will also quieten it down a tad and not loose hp, plus have the look of a convertor

remove the factory convertor and replace it with a race muffler, they look just like a convertor or aftermarket convertor.

with the addition of also tamming the noise down a tad

these are the only pics i found quick

the one by itself is a convertor you can get from jegs, and the other three together are flowmaster race mufflers, basically a hollow log with some exhaust packing

you can get them anywhere, summit jeggs, any race shop

they will tame the noise a tad when used as convertors with like a magnaflow cat back, plus when the "man" looks under there it will look like ya got convertors, plus they are cheap as hell:D

the last pic is a different kind of convertor:D its for the old fart that drives SRT's;) :p

Screw all of that, install some open headers! Or at least put some cutouts on. At the very least, dump the exhaust with no muffler.

Honestly, put the money away and save up for a good set of long tube headers.

I've got a one off custom 3 inch Corsa system with cat delete and 4 dynomax mufflers.

I just recieved some info from the NASA rocky mountain group making sure I show up next month in La Junta. Appartently, there are some guys wanting to see and more specifically hear my truck on the roadcourse :)

Here are a few samples of what the truck sounds like:

I added two 3" spintech mufflers before my magnaflow. They definitely quieted it down and my 1/4 mile time didn't change at all. It's not quiet as stock but it's barely louder than stock.

Where can I get them ? Are they expensive ? I have a good deal on the MagnaFlow resonators with JMB Justin,I am just exploring all options.I LOVE the wide open sound, just don't need the legal hassles
