Shawn, I’ll have you know that I was the absolute first to read your farewell thread (according to the views count [1] and replies count [0] upon my getting out of that thread). I didn’t reply to it because I didn’t want to believe it; moreover, I was at a loss for words. I didn’t feel I had anything to say that was useful at that time so I pressed onward hoping someone would convince you to reconsider. Now, after reading this thread and the posts within, it makes me feel good because it signals that you’ve elected to remain; and rightly so since you ARE a major part of this place since….. well, the member #18 slot was available. I agree with all you have said here and I do vow to comply. Although it was mentioned that there will be no finger pointing here I am one to admit my faults. I know I’ve been guilty of getting upset around here. But after seeing what Patrick said…

There seems to be a lack of respect towards some of the 'older members'; members who have been around for a while member numbers (0 - 750), especially ( 0 - 100 ). These members have been around here for a while and know how this place was...they are part of the backbone that makes this place tick.

...I saw that it’s clear (not only to me) that a problem had been brewing for quite sometime… So I felt I should come forward and make it known (without pointing fingers at anyone) that the disrespect and bickering isn’t limited to just those who hold member numbers higher than 100 or 750. I have been here for quite a while and I remember how enthusiastic I was to come here and talk about things pertaining to adventures and lessons learned regarding our trucks. High fives were given and we moved on to other friendly conversations. It was a relief getting away from the “other” place without fear of dictation or ridicule. Here at VTCoA no one came off as if they were better than the next member. In these days; however, one has to wonder if they are going to get trampled on and considered an idiot or stupid ass for talking about something they did that day. As a result, the flame of enthusiasm is fast becoming extinguished. It’s sad because this is a great place to be.

I am like many here who spend countless hours enjoying each other’s company, support, advice, FRIENDSHIP. But like in every group of people, team, crew or family, there will always be differences. Many times I quietly walked away without a fuss after feeling put down here with intentions of not coming back. But like always within a week or two I return because I felt like I belong. I don’t like walking away from this place so at times I get defensive and angry when I’m pushed because I see this as my virtual home too. Since respect is earned we should ALL respect one another no matter what, in hopes that we too will be respected on a level we would like.

This goes for everyone reading this: If there is something I say here or on any other thread that you don’t like then that’s what PMs are for. Let me know, I am very considerate of others’ feelings and I always welcome constructive criticism (as long as it’s in private). I will never discount what someone has to say. But when someone publicly scolds another grown person that act moves into an area called humiliation and I have never met anyone in my lifetime that welcomes that feeling. With that said I return to Shawn’s views and concur with them. From here on out I expect respect between everyone here as I will make great endeavor to extend respect no matter what member number you are. Thank you for coming back Shawn. Your rather short absence was probably what was needed to direct us back to a better VTCoA together. Peace to ALL of my forum brothers and sister…..
