I thought I would share this with all of you. I purchased my truck August 31st this year, it is a 05 QC used, at the time of the purchase I got a three year extended warranty. Today I get a letter from the dealership telling me that they have credited my bank account the amount I paid for the warranty because Chrylser Canada will not give out the extended warranties on a used SRT10!!
Anybody know of a reputable independent warranty provider that serves Canada

There are a couple of guy's here that are from around where you live...maybe they'll chime-in.

I hate to laugh sir...............

But the words "reputable" and "warranty provider" constitute an oxymoron.....

No disrespect intended in any way............

In my opinion, your warranty is only good if you have absolutely NO mods to your truck... Even then, I look at most warranties with a somewhat jaundiced eye...

Agreed, I had a friend drop a motor... which was covered by the extended warraty, but the part that caused the catastrophic failure wasn't covered therefore they didn't cover the motor. This is just one example of many horror stories I have heard on non factory extended warranties. Keep your money and buy exhaust or something.

Yeah really Silent D,,,,your so right..............keep your money dude, warranty isnt worth that much if you have any mods. And who really has a stock truck?

patrick
I do :D

That's crap. so what's to stop them from refunding your money as soon as you file a claim?

I look at extended warranties the same as buying lottery tickets. It's just a legalized form or gambling. I don't gamble.

I am in TO and bought my '05 RC in the USA and had it shipped. Upon entry from the US the factory warranty is void. I bought a 4 year 80KM warranty from Coverage One Corp. It is a Used Vehicle Plan-$2,500.00 CDN. I have 22KM and 0 problems. It is a insured and transferable warranty. I do not know anything about the warranty company.

I don't know if you can get this plan in Canada they say you can (1-800-465-2001), 1-800-521-9922 U.S. This is what I'am going to try "DaimlerChrysler Service Conrtacts". My SRT is less than a year old this saves me about $125.00. There are two plans, (1) Added care Plus, this extends Powertrain and basic component coverage (covers 800+ components), (2) Maximum Care (covers 5007+ components) plus towing/road side assistance, car rental & hotel if the failure occurs more then 100 miles from home. The plan is transferable($50.00) There are many coverages to select from, deductibles $0-50-100, years 3-7 & miles 36,000-100,000. I,am going with the Max Care, $50 Ded. 7 year 50,000 miles, for less then $1,150. If I diden't have a good working relationship with an authorized dealer, I would not go with ANY plan.

Hope this helps Jim

Well the news just gets better, Chrysler Canada confirmed what SinorSwim stated. The truck I bought has no warranty as it came up from the U.S.
I guess its time to lawyer up and talk to the dealer that sold it to me!!

You can have my warranty. I wont be using it. :) Case of beer and a pack of smokes it's yours, just one province over.

Did you buy the truck from a Chrysler dealer?

If you did you MAY have recourse. If it was a independant you may be out of luck.

Either case I would settle for a after market warranty or $3,000.00.

I hope you got a good deal. These things sell all day long at '05 RC 30K USD anywhere in the USA.
