WOT said:The fake battery tray is an old vestigial organ from when Rams used to be diesels with only 6 cyclinders, way back in prehistoric times. Through many years of mutations, the SRT-10 has evolved into a 10 cylinder gasoline burner, but there is still evidence of its genetic past linking it to the diesels. It's kind of like a human appendix.
My brothers 06 QC hemi had the dual battery boxes...although I don't know why..and since his is an 06 I think the frame is different:dontknow:kennygene said:Do the normal 1500 series trucks have the 2nd battery box?

If I remember correctly ( ) the standard 1500 frame would not work with the Viper engine /radiator due to the way it was designed for the offset radiator location for the HEMI and V-6.
The 2500 diesel frame had the radiator centered in the front and had dual battery trays..

Frame on my 2500 isn't any different just the suspension.kennygene said:Sounds like the frame is for sure 1/2 ton. So, what's the deal with 2 battery boxes?
