I voted for Hotlanta, cause it's the only one I would have a chance of getting to. It's pretty cheap to get there and once there I wouldn't have to spend any money. I got places to stay there on all sides of town, and they feed me too hehe. Don't sound like it's gonna be the winner though.

Atlanta may not be a bad idea though . . . If we stay far enough out (away from all the downtown BS) it wont be bad congestionwise.

Commerce (Atlanta Dragway) isn't that far from Lake Lanier either, so that would give us the opportunity to have some aquatic refreshement. Ernie and Ken can chime in as to what all is there is to do in that area. Hell, I bet we could rent cabins on the lake or stay in some resort there on the lake and drive to the track on raceday. . .

I'll gladly pick anyone up from the Airport too!

roz is there any tracks near the ocean in georgia?

I think Savannah has one, but it's 1/8th mile if my memory serves me correctly . . .

Now you're talking Roz. I have a Brother that is only an exit or 2 away from the lake, that would work for me hehehe. Last time I was there (last summer) the lake was pretty low, not sure how things are with water down that way now. Couple of good wings and beer places right up that way too.

seeing how we drove what seemed well over an hr to the track, would anyone be opposed to staying on the ocean and driving 90 minutes or so to a track?

I do know there is plenty to do on and around lake lanier, although with our current drought conditions the lake is still down 12ft so this would be a factor! You would be looking at about an hour drive to Atlanta dragway and about an hour and 15 min to I believe its called Silver Dollar Dragway on the southside of atlanta. I will check into a few things!

It's that far to Atlanta Dragway?? On le map, it looked closer. (Depending on which side of the lake we stayed on)

Can you say Mercu#%$

Panama was a hoot for me.

Everything for everybody, fun, friends, food, great beach, comfy acomidations, and a great place to hang out at night (Tony Saywer official memorial parking, and inniation arena).

Secure parking for guys that trailer in.

Breakaway drag strip was laid back, and very accomodating to us.

The traction was good enough for the Mountaineer. he...he...he

I will go anywhere, as I will probably fly in, with the cost of fuel being what it is, and likley to go higher.

PCB is my top pick, but im biased im just an hour away. Not the best track prep tho. We do have emerald coast dragway in holt florida http://www.emeraldcoastdragway.com/.

Depending on how many would be coming i can get a few rooms on base for 28-35 dollars a night. Rooms in town are less than $75, we have 98 restaurants in a 5 mile radius. Best beaches on the coast. Cheapest boats and skis are on base 100 bucks for all day. Campground with lights water sewer and cable minutes from the track. Just thought i would throw it out there.

damn where is that close to"?

45 miles east of the Florida/Alabama line on I10. You can see it from the interstate. About 30 minutes from my house :D :elefant:  Although I have never been

My vote is Panama City Beach! Of course I am parial to the distance from home. But everyone had a great time. The next go round, we will definitely take some time off work and spend more time getting to know more of you. A day at the beach sounds good. Or hell, just save the track money and spend the whole weekend at the beach. It's not all about the racing. It's all about the folks! I say we find a weekend when there is a big car show in PCB and invade that sumbitch. There are usually some good sized shows at Frank Brown Park. Anyway, that's my 2 cents. I'll see yall where the waves meet the sand!

Ok here is what Eddie and I talked of today:D but of course things will change I'm sure, and alot depends on differnt things.

But possibly not doing the Nats this year as they are just boring;) you dont get but a run or two, sit in the hot sun lookin at each other,a nd spent thousands on tents:(

So thinking of making the fall event "national" east to west coast:rock:

thursday thru saturday event.

everyone getting in on wednesday night,

Thursday.........beach time, truck washing, cruising the strip , just plain fun:rock:

Friday, possible truck show at G-mans dealership till nooon or 2 pm, then about 5pm cookout, then beach or go karts, so on.

Saturday, the track:rock:

Basically the same race deal, since its as fair as you can get, but will be under mine and Eddies rules:p

Saturday night....................free for all:D

sunday............jsut take your butt home:p

Now the date? we are thinking the second week in september, after labor day, that way some of the vacating crowd will be gone.

There will be someting posted before the event so that everyone knows times and events.

or possible even august, depends on ya'll

The rooms if everyone rooms together, they rooms will end up less than $80 a night for a condo that is awsome, right on the beach:rock:

We will finalize things and start the thread about it the first of May:D

We need all suggestions, they are welcome:rock:

Sounds like a helluva good time to me!!!

In all honestly. There isn't much I wouldn't change. This trip was beyond badass. The only thing I would have to change, is MORE TIME. That shit went by so fast.

Just got off the phone with EDDie and thats what we were talking of Roz, more time:p

this way we get there wed night, and have thursday and friday, and sat track time

and it could work great for alot of folks too, vacation time, take the family out during the week and let the hubby come to the track on sat:D

But if yuns could Roz and Borden and Chubs and others post up how cool the rooms were, and how many can stay in a room, that way people will understand too, that the rooms arent that expensive with a few folks staying in the same condo.

Ours had on room with two full size beds, a fold out, another room with two beds, and a master bedroom, kitchen, three baths, killer view, and a good size living room:rock:

gotta run fellas:D

Ours was a 2 room condo with a king size in one and two full size in the other. There were foldaways in the closet (at least two). Very nice view on the 7th floor!
