Famoso Results...My best day ever! 11.631 !

Well we got rained out Saturday, but they let the test and tune people come back on Sunday during a Summit Points meet and let us make runs between elimination rounds. Boy am I glad I went back. My previous best ET was 11.669 and 4 out of 5 runs beat that! I set a new personal best ET for both the 1/4 mile and the 1/8th mile. I am having trouble with the DRAG TIMES DA Calculator , so I can't provide DA info or temps, maybe someone can get theirs to work. I will provide the time I made each run. Here are my 5 runs in order:

Run 1: 9:36 am, 60' 1.572 (personal best), 1/8th mile 7.416 (personal best) @ 94.53 mph, 1/4 mile 11.648 @ 116.72 mph.

Run 2: 9:59 am, 60' 1.609, 1/8th mile 7.454 @ 94.31 mph, 1/4 mile 11.696 @ 116.12 mph (slowest of the day).

Run 3: 11:36 am, 60' 1.587, 1/8th mile 7.440 @ 94.40 mph, 1/4 mile 11.664 @ 117.08 mph.

Run 4: 12.55 pm, 60' 1.609, 1/8th mile 7.436 @ 91.82 mph, 1/4 mile 11.631 (personnal best) @ 117.99 mph. My new ET record!:burnout:

Run 5: 2:51 pm, 60' 1.635, 1/8th mile 4.818 @ 92.14 mph, 1/4 mile 11.665 @ 117.50 mph.

I was really pleased with the VP MS109 fuel. I called Chris from DC Performance and we will be re-tuning for the hotter fuel to take full advantage of the 109 octane. Right now my race tune is for a 50/50 mix of 91 and 100 octane......and today I was running probably a 75-80/ 25-20 mix of 109 to 91 and the truck seemed to like it. I also will be looking into installing some electric fans and eliminating the factory hydraulic fan , and then running a short belt to bypass the power steering pump on race day. Results to follow.

Great times! The powersteering pump went out on my last truck. Trying to turn the wheel is next to impossible without it. I am however interested electric fans instead of the hydraulic one. I'm sure that coupled with an underdrive pulley and aluminum flywheel would really wake up the way this engine revs.

It amazes me that you are able to consistently able to set personal bests, every time out. Great job!

I think you should forget about bypassing the power steering pump. Just skip ahead to new heads and cam.

I made a mistake on run 5, the 1/8th mile ET was 7.457 , not 4.818 (that was the 330' time). Sorry......and thanks guys for all the compliments. With a new tune and the short belt I hope to gain a little more....its getting interesting. I'm saving my money, talking with Greg Good about my options on heads and a cam.
