Hey all you SoCal trucks...Friday June 12 at 7 PM is Test and Tune at Famoso Raceway...Bakersfield, Ca. The weather should be great...High for the day is predicted to be 81 degrees...so it should be in the mid to low 70's at the track after 7pm. Should be good air and hopefully good times. Hope to see some of you there... I will be trying to break my best Famoso time of 12.27 @112.42 .....wish me luck... I hope the starting line will be good! Brad...if you can make it I will buy the gas.

I am poor right now but let me see what I can do.

Bedliner (factory), Carbon Fiber Hood, Fiberglass fenders, gutted front bumper, and removal of windshield washer bottle= 120 lbs weight loss. I also change front wheels and tires to 20X8 with 245-45-20 tires ( save 60 lbs), remove tailgate (60 lbs), remove aftermarket bedcover (fiberglass, 120 lbs), subwoofer (8 lbs) and passenger seat (45+ lbs) . Race weight with 1/4 tank estimated to be around 4650 lbs. Interesting note, when I ran back in January at Sacramento the DA was 309 feet and I ran 12.024 @ 112.58 and the speed according to NHRA calculations corrected to 112.64. Then on 5/9/09 Sacramento GTG my first run was at 7pm and the DA was 1527 feet and with the poor starting line my 60' was 1.85 (compared to 1.65 in January) , and this was the first run at 120 lbs lighter, my time was 12.355 @ 115.371 which corrected to 12.147 @ 117.387 and I think that speed tells a lot.....maybe not all weight, but it helped! Oh to have those .2 tenths in the 60' time and I might have cracked the 11 second barrier.

Cool, thanks Jerry. So the "secret's" out! :p I knew there was more the madness than your truck being a freak, and/or you being a good driver. :) :)

I'm debating on yankin' a bunch of stuff off the truck to see how it'll do at the track one night. As I've always said, my main "argument" with this is, I want the truck to run the same at ANY given time. I don't wanna shed 1000 lbs, run a badass time at the track, then have some chump on the street claiming to have outran high 7 second truck after I reinstall all my junk!

I apoligize for the thread-jack. Enjoy your night at Famoso!

Jerry I wish I could go. Thank you for the offer. Spencer has a Karate movie night with the rest of his class that he pleaded to go to. I'm sorry bro but I just can't break my son's heart. Good luck at the track. I owe you one Jerry.

yeah i agree with that, all i ever took off was teh spare tire.
ok so its the 14th trainman wheres the results already????:D

Here are my results...nothing great, no new record, ...but not bad. First run the clocks did not work so I got no time. 2nd run: 12.465 @ 112.23 mph, 1.882 60' (spun hard), 1/8th mile 8.046 @ 87.23. DA was 1910 feet so air was not as good as I had hoped ( corrected time= 12.193 @ 114.793). Last run at 11:30 pm and 65 degrees , 12.370 @ 112.31 mph, 1.812 60', 1/8th mile 7.957 @ 87.42. DA was 1697 feet, corrected time= 12.134 @ 114.540. I'm seriously thinking of changing back to an aluminum flywheel....what do you guys think?

. . . How do you guys know the DA and correct it? The closest 1/4-mile track almost 2 hours from here (got a 1/8-mile in my backyard) and I know the elevation isn't anywhere near sea-level.

Here is the remaining schedule: Famoso Raceway, Fridays @ 7PM , Test and Tune, June 26, July 10 & 24, Aug 7 & 21, Sept 4 and Thurday Sept. 17 (time TBA). Also Pinks All Out (sold out) will be Sept 11 & 12.
