Saturday Feb. 9th is a private Test and Tune at Famoso Raceway (661-399-2210) limited to the first 100 cars or trucks to call and enter( $100). Gates open at 8am. I am already signed up, SRTBrad will probably be there to film. Sunday Feb 10th is an Import car show and race, but they will have a Test and Tune open to all vehicles $50. I'm sure gates open at 8am also.

I should add that Lyle Larson (DC Performance) will be there with a Drag Pack Challenger (Viper powered), the owner will be getting his NHRA License. That should be fun to see. Lyle says the car is a mid 9 second challenger.

I should also add that this will be my last Test and Tune for awhile. I have a bone rubbing on my tendon in my rightshoulder, has been very painful and I have been playing racketball left-handed since Nov. I will be having surgery later in February, recovery might be slow if there is any tendon damage that has to be repaired. This will give me some time to have the heads and intake done for my NA build....hopefully ready to break the NA record in the fall. (After I set a new record on Feb 9th!)....Dreaming of course...the Na record stands at 11.51 ,....and I'm currently at 11.63....but the weather is supposed to be really good on Saturday the 9th. High of 61....so at 9am it will be in the high 40's ...and the last time I checked the DA at famoso this time of year , it was between -650 and up to -100 DA. All you SoCal SRT's should come out....at least to watch the Viper powered Challenger Drag Pack!

I just checked the DA for yesterday...at 9am it was 44 degrees and -631' DA, at 4 pm a high of 61 degrees and a DA of 597'.

I just did a check back for my record run. Apr 16, 2012, 12:55 pm, 71 degrees, DA 1412'(Feb 9th should be better all day), 60' 1.609 (I should beat that since I now have the Carbon Fiber driveshaft and the truck is more consistant), 1/8th mile [email protected], 1/4 mile [email protected]ted time [email protected]. So those are the marks I am shooting for....wish me luck....Oh how I wish I could run 11.49 on the stock motor.

Who has an 11.51 NA? :dontknow:

Ken SRT10VENOMOUS claims [email protected] , did once, with stuff in the bed, and on street tires. He is selling the heads , headers and intake from that engine as we speak. He now has Ram fromHell truck as his new toy. Check the timeslip section on this forum, pretty even numbers and not many specifics.....but he claims it. The 11.50 also listed was the first general listing then later corrected to 11.51, he never removed the first claim of 11.50, but did eventually post a time slip somewhere on this forum. I try to post every aspect of my runs to the nearest thousandth, along with temp, DA, time and date. Hoping it helps people with info about these fabulous trucks.

I tried to copy his timeslip, but it won't work for me. Anyway on page 9 of the Racing section is a posting titled "New NA Record..Sorry Trainman" and on post # 107 is a picture of his timeslip. It shows a 1.958 60' (about right for street tires), a 1/8th time of 7.018 @ 95.753 , and a 1/4 mile time of 11.514 @ 121.426....so thats the record for now.

Here's the part I find interesting , SRT10VENOMOUS has a fully built forged, head ported, cammed motor, and he obviously makes more power than my stock internal engine. If you subtract his 1/8th mile time from his 1/4 mile time (11.514-7.018) you get 4.496 seconds. And if you subtract my best 1/8th mile from my best 1/4 mile time (11.631-7.436) you get 4.195 seconds. How do I cover the final 1/8th mile .301 seconds quicker? Speed wise is the same thing...he gains 25.673 mph (121.426-95.753) over the final 660' and I gain 26.170 mph (117.99-91.82). Maybe my lighter weight is really making a bigger difference than I thought. Anyway, here's hoping for a really good run on Feb 9th.

I was just going to reply before I finished reading this post that your lightweight and aero mods are making up for the HP difference on the top end. That will learn me to read entire posts before saying what you have already figured out. :D

Good point....I actually forgot about my Aerodynamic mods, my foglight covers and the grill cover. Lyle at DC Perf. was the one that suggested Aero mods, once my speeds were above 110 mph.

I'd say you still hold the record. I remember him posting but not time slips? Hmmm...
But yes Aero is a huge factor for sure as well as weight reduction.

I noticed that Ken has a built in 1/4 mile meter in his truck. His builder also posts video's on YouTube showing how accurately their dyno can measure 1/4 mile times. I would like to know if he ever verified his track time using either of those methods?

I remember seeing the timeslip.

Part of the difference is the 3-4 shift. :driver:

Jerry you know who I think still holds the record. Ken has been repeatedly been invited to back up his claim at the track. Out of courtesy for an OG member I'm not going to raise the bs flag but I have my opinions. I'm 100% sure you will reclaim your deserved title soon. If you don't get the record before your surgery then you will claim it after. We will all be hoping for the best for your surgery. See you at the track soon.
