Well after saving up enough money I finally got the full clutch kit from JMB. I got a brand new stock flywheel from MMMMtorque and so I was ready to go. I even went ahead and got new pressure plate bolts;) .

So far all is going smooth..I just finished taking the trans out and I am amazed at all the clutch crud mixed with oil from the rear main seeping... I gotta a few can of brake cleener to take care of that. I was gonna pull the trans out in 2 pieces but I decided to just pull the whole thing out together so I wouldnt mess up the alignment. I saw with the slave i got 2 shims, I was wondering if i am supposed to use both but I read up and guess I have to so in they go..Hoping to get the trans in tonite and then install the rest in tomarrow. I ll post pics in a bit.

ok i spoke too soon:eek:

Do you have to thread the new viper slave to accept the bleeder screw from the old slave???

heres the old slave, see how it has the bleeder screw attached

well i can remove it but the new slave Seems like it would need to be tapped so i can screw it in.. wierd...

heres the new slave already installed, but I guess imma have to tap it so ican screw the bleeder in...any insight on this??

here is the pressure plate and clutch still installed, i wonder how bad it is after 43k miles..

well no clutch pieces falling out so I guess not so bad...but the scoring on the flywheel is pretty bad...you can feel it with your finger and i'm guessing you can tell i dropped the clutch once or twice

heres is the clutch..it worn down pretty evenly and some of the rivets were already starting to hit the flywheel and pressure plate...I couldnt done this any sooner:D

viperclutch022.jpg

heres the clutch disc, you can see where the ratchet is pointing that one of the rivets was already rubbing and grinding into the pressure plate

viperclutch023.jpg

heres the pressure plate itself...lots of hot spots and tons of little heat cracks...besides that not to bad

viperclutch024.jpg

heres rear main, you can see the collection of clutch material and oil from the rear main leak..Well Its not leaking as bad i would of thought..gotta clean this up though

heres a closer look..

:slug: just hooked up the hydraulics. getting ready to start the bleeding. Also got fiqure where to mount the remote reservoir for the clutch fluid

alright clutch is finished and the truck moves:rock: Got caught up watching the de la hoya fight... what a puss....

any how... started it up and all sounds good. usually when the truck was cold it was pretty hard to move thru the gears and reverse...Now the shifter glides thru em all with and goes into each very smoothly...The only thing I found a lil different was the pedal releases pretty high..I have the shim in there so cant be anything wrong.. clutch bleed thru fine but I'm do it again in a few days just to make sure its nice and bleed. Now 500 miles of casual street drving and then it is on....12's here i come!!!
