So yesterday i drove from phoenix to yuma (200 mi) to meet a guy coming from San Diego with the truck, which i picked up a steal. The truck has a paxton novi 2000 supercharger, belanger headers, 4 cats replaced with 2 high flow cats, magnaflow exhaust, 170 tstat, custom short throw shifter, and ecm tweaked to work with everything. DC performance did all the work and the truck dynoed at 620 rwhp and 600 ftlbs.

So i drove the truck back from yuma to phoenix having fun with it and it was able to pull to 6000 rpm. from phoenix i drove to gallup, nm (another 200 mi to see some of my family). this morning i let the truck warm up and then started giving people rides but the truck seemed to lose power/choke after 5000rpm. I'm thinking its just the altitude change and since the weather is 60degrees. what do you guys thinks this could be due to? I'll be going back to phoenix on sunday so thats where the truck will stay.

Your first instinct is helpful.

How is the ECM tweaked? Is it flashed? Is it piggybacked? Be more specific.

Your altitude, density, amount of moisture in the air, etc. etc. are all vastly different moving from San Diego to Phoenix. Start with having a reputable tuner in your area take a look at the a/f, timing, etc. You may need to re-flash or re-tune your setup.

Fountain Hills, I'm jealous.

Altitude and heat? If the truck came from SD it was probably tuned for sea level and lost power at altitude. I found some of my fast track times came when I shifted at 5500 instead of 6k.

would disconnecting the battery and then connecting the battery help reset ecm asa far as starting up the motor and let it warm to let the ecm relearn at the different altitude and temperature?

Anyone know of any good shops in phoenix area? ill post pics soon of truck

I would suspect the supercharger would nearly negate the effects of temp, humidity and for the most part altitude change you'll see from SD to Fountain Hills. Gallup is a bit higher. Congrats on the new truck!

There are a lot of advantages to shifting in the lower half of the 5000 rpm range...one is quicker times, another is longer engine life...should be enough to convince most thinking people.

Treat it well, it will last, until it is time to blow...and that will happen, it is just a matter of time for most. But its all OK...its part of the fun.
