I made it to our local drag strip this past weekend. I only had a few hours but was able to get in 4 runs. I have only ran my subaru in the past so have zero experience with this truck. It was stressful to say the least. I left the truck exactly how it is when I drive it so there was no weight reduction. I weighed in on their scale at 4650 with me in it. I weight 250lbs.

    Anyway I ran a 14.7, 14.5, 13.7 and final run was 13.5

I was happy to knock more than a full second off my own time in the three hours I was there. I was getting zero traction. I had to leave the line so soft in order to hook up at all. Then I would still spin the end of 1st and beginning of 2nd. I will definitely be getting some DR and traction bars for the next time out. It was fun to try all different things off the line though. I am sure I would have been able to get it a couple tenths lower with a couple more passes but that is it on the bald tires I have.

Here is a video of my 13.5 pass.

I also ran 1/4 mile for first time since 1990. This 6-speed truck is fun! Ran 13.6 @ 107; then 13.5 @ 107. Nitto tires at 35 psi. I rolled out easy in 1st, hit 2nd a bit too hard and got lots of slip and tire shake both runs. Going back at 20-25 psi and easing into 2nd gear this time. Looking for low 13s. I belive Sticky tires would put me in high 12s.
Anyway, this old man having fin at drag strip again!

It's cool to hear how your experience went! 13.5 is not bad with a stock truck.

Question... 4650?!? WITH you in it?!? The RC is listed as 5130 with no driver. I also hear 06' are a bit heavier. Scale you used could be off. No matter if you get back to the same place with similar conditions you can measure any improvements.

Stock or can tune?!? If so, they lay over rich up top and hurt E.T and trap speed. .2 to .4 on E.T.

How old are your street tires? I found that a freshly mounted tire makes a HUGE difference in traction at stock PSI of 38. Also, stock rubber bushings on the leaf springs hurt traction. Get the polys along with larger slapper bar snubber's and rebound bushing (Locks in the slapper). Then upgrade the "kicker" shock to a QA1 to dial out any additional axle wrap. Viola! Traction! Especially on the 1-2 shift. Not as much as slicks. However, not as much hassle either with spider gear damage, caliper grinding and the change over at the track. Besides, would you run it on the street with slicks? Nah....

BTW, My stock 05' went 13.44 @ 106 my first time out.

    Cheers!
