Assuming the weather forecast holds I plan my first trip to the track tomorrow with my new stock SRT10 Quad Cab. The track is Houston Raceway Park. The weather forecast for 6pm calls for 45^ with a dewpoint of 17^. I've no idea what it'll run.

Any predictions?

Current odometer reading is just under 1400 miles. I changed out the original oil and filter day before yesterday so I wouldn't have break-in juice in it at the track.

My best on the truck I traded in/normally aspirated quad cab 5.7L Hemi and signficant upgrades was 14.013 at just over 93mph.

mine runs low 14's at LACR stock, and I run 13.5 with the stage2 flash and better exhaust.

you will probably do better since LACR is about .5 slower than every other track I've been to.

Thanks. Houston Raceway Park is a great place to post really low times if you can catch the weather right. It's close to sea level. We have a high-pressure ridge with cold air, low humidity, and low dewpoints setting in now. Assuming there's enough heat during the day tomorrow for them to be able to prep. the track it should be an opportunity fo an excellent baseline. I've got a DC Performance PCM ordered that I don't expect to be here in time to install before heading out.

I don't have a digital camera to post the timeslip but will post results assuming I go.

Mine went 13.5 in 65 degree weather all stock. Good luck

Just found out the HRP will be closed this weekend, the track is getting resurfaced.

Yep, they're resurfacing from 660' to the finish. It was scheduled to be complete today with the track open tonight. As of this morning though the HRP website says closed tonight and Sunday to get the surface "perfect".

Oh well, false alarm. I'll go next time it's open and the weather's good then post times. We also have a track over at Evadale that's much closer to my house and supposedly good but I've never tried it.

Thanks for the predictions.

HRP is showing as open for tomorrow so I'm going to try again for a baseline. I have installed a k&n drop-in, 170^ thermostat, and DC Stage II flash. Exhaust is on order but not yet received. I'm going to make runs in full street trim/no weight reductions, including about 1/4 tank of gas. The weather is forecast as sunny with a high of 65^ at 3p.m. so they should have enough heat to prep the track. 6p.m. weather is predicted to be 58^ with 37% humidity and a dewpoint of 39. That's not great but not bad. Assuming no negative surprises I'll post results late Friday or early Saturday.

Just got back from the track. The weather wasn't as good as forecast on Weather Underground but still fun. The forecast was for 51^ at 6p.m.. It was 61^.

I don't have a scanner or digital camera so I can't post copies of the slips. Info. on them by run is as follows:

I was in full street trim, with bed cover, tailgate, spare tire, back seats, mirrors not folded, 1/4+ tank of gas, my wife's purse (she was with me, no I don't carry it), a 10 lb. bag of protein, my fat ass, on street tires, etc... Weight on the scales with me in it was 5835. I did lower rear tire pressure to 30# and raise the fronts to 40#. All launches had tires spin, thus the poor 60' times. All runs had tire chirp on the 1-2 shift.

Next time to the track will be after the 1st of the year and after I install my headers, high-flow cats, and cat-back. I'll stay in full street trim/no weight reductions or slicks that trip for a 2nd typical street setup baseline. Whenever the subsequent trip I'll do weight reduction and use slicks.

Will post results.
