I keep hearing about the flash on a QC "really waking it up" and some claim of 90HP.

Does it make that big of a difference on an RC?

Has anyone got their's dyno'd afterwards????

I think the Qc After the Flash Could perform Just as goos as A Rc without one. what do you guys think?

I averaged 16.5 MPG at almost 80 MPH coming back from Boomer's GTG.

Bill.

You will see tons more gain and sotp feel on a qc than a RC so dotn get confused.

On a qc you loose the trq limiter and get more timing and fuel

but the Rc will only get timing and fuel and the gains will be smaller and felt less.

And, I know mine also turns on the radiator fan sooner to help keep the engine cooler.

between the vec III and the flash on the Rc the only thing the Flash will be good for is the fan control.

really ? did you have to request this feature ? who did the flash for you on your pcm ?

thanks.
THE STAGEII FLASH WILL TURN ON YOUR FANS APPROX 15DEGREES COOLER. YOU WILL NEED TO CHANGE YOUR T-STAT TO A 170.

i understand that the aftermarket PCM is a new "computer" where as the VEC
is a "piggyback" that modifies the "Computer" so in a sense the VEC does
it's job by making things better but the PCM is the backbone... so to put it
all into perspective wouldn't you want a better back bone to do those
squats? :dontknow: my mind is always open to understanding things better
please enlighten me :D  :D :D

Which is a better bang for the buck? Or like Sharpimage says, is it a better backbont to start with? What exactly does the VEC do? I'm kinda stupid???

I have one (B&G) for sale for the '05 RC if anyone is interested $400 + Ship. Still have to send it back to have your VIN flashed (about $150). PM me.

wellll Patrick could explain better but here goes.

the flash pcm or mopar pcm is jsut that a pcm that has had the fuel and timing changed.

Now the vecIII when installed goes in line with all the injectors, O2 sensor, air temp and so on. So when it is tuned it also changes the fuel and timing curves, but at smaller increments than the flashed pcm.

If it was me , I wouldnt bother doing anything to the pcm if you plan on the vec III unless it was a QC where it takes out the trq limiter in the auto tranny.

You can call B&G and request only certain items changed, in other words the fan only earlier, or certain specifics.
