Flash Tuners For Dummies

Handheld with my setup

I was wondering I have the stage II and the Roe TS with the VEC. Would I get anything out of being able to adjust my B&G tune? Any Ideas? Should I leave it alone? Fuel curves has already been tweaked by PBJ. aannnnnd Can I adjust shiftpoints with it?

thanks, Perry

The PCM that you have with your QC is STOCK! The only thing it can have is Torque managemnt and fan cycle. The VEC III adjusts the fuel and timng curves! The VecIII doesn't work with altered PCMs

Thanks guys. :)

Last question, if I order my SCT and have 3 programs installed, any programs can I update at a later stage or is what I get first it for that programmer? Like, in 6 months time can I email, download or "upgrade" somehow and change my settings and programs?

Thanks,
Carl

I think tunes can be changed by email, but not 100% sure. Carl, how long do you have to wait to finally drive it? You might like it stock if its going to be a DD.

Yes you can always update your programs by calling or emailing your SCT supplier with the mods you have changed and they will email you a new tune. Cost? I dont know since I just received my SCT. You then plug the SCT handheld to your computer and download new tune, then plug -n- play to your truck.

Ok, I got a pcm reflash from roe then added the vec III. Youre telling me that the pcm is stock? I remeber plugging it in before installing the roe and I dont think thats right bro. I got added hp and as you stated it adjusted the torque and fan. I know the vec does the fuel/timing.

Hey bud, I should have the truck in right hand drive form in the next 6-8 weeks. It just went into the conversion shop last week and they said around 5-6 weeks, so I give it 8 just to be safe. It will be registered, VINned and 100% legal for driving on New Zealand roads, can't wait!! Stock is fine but the mods I have are nothing major and IMO won't hinder a daily/weekly driver. :)

mauiSRT/10 - Yup, has to be converted by law. Anything that is 20 years or newer has to be converted by law. So, at present you can have a 1987 Diplomat and not need to convert it. ;)

Chef-Greg Thanks for the info, it's sounding better every minute!

hey Carl,
Carl here. can ya post some photos of the conversion when its done. that would be really different to see everything on the "wrong" side, lol.

my tuner told me that new tunes were free from him, all i hvae to do is call him up tell him the changes then he sends them over. sorry to get off topic but where in nc are you chef?

Yup, will do. I plan to take the truck to some nice scenic locations and grabs some "classy" magazine style shots. ;) You can also use any LHD interior photo and simply "flip/reverse" it in Microsoft Paint/Image to get a pretty accurate look at how the outcome is. :) The first photo is a flipped LHD image, the other two are actual RHD conversions done in New Zealand.
