[Flying] Pre-solo test

This is just the written for pre-solo. Then I need a check ride with another instructor, then I can solo. Then build some solo hours, then some cross country, then the big test.
I've only been at it since Dec 27th. I have about 14 hours under my belt. So far the weather hasn't been in my favor to solo. High winds it seems every weekend when I go in. Because of that, my last 3 sessions have been patteren work. Still working on getting my landings in winds where I want them to be.

500 ft is plenty if there is at least 50 KIAS. I can do it lower if I'm already into the wind and don't need to turn around. We would practice engine failure on take offs at 100 feet 60 KIAS and take it all the way to the deck with the engine at idle.

interesting, i was thinking of adding a few hours of heli training this year.
