I've been thinking about getting a fold out (flip out) flush mounted TV screen for the SRT10. Has anyone done this yet? I'll be going for my favorite brand Pioneer (never had any trouble). Prefer the touch screen ones too. So, anyone got some photos or advice if they've done it themselves? Mine is the single din factory set up so I'm not missing much. 2006 truck too (RC NR). :)

Thanks,
Carl

Is this what your looking for ?

Hope this helps.

The man! ;) Thanks mate, looks real sharp and that looks like the model I've been eyeing up.
Did you have to make any mods? Do you have any photos with the screen folded in? I just want to see if it's flush or if it sticks out. :)

Thanks, looks real good.

HEY CARL HERES MY N2 I REALLY LIKE IT NAV/DVD & MORE HOPE THIS HELPS,GOT PRO INSTALL NEEDS KIT & ALSO STEERING WHEEL CNTLS SEP KIT
STEPHEN:D

i had the AVIC-N1 by pioneer in mine 2005 QC and i did not like the look of the way it sticks out so i moved it over to my ferrari and it fit just fine(did not stick out) this is the older 2005 avic-n1 ...the new ones maybe shorter and fit O K :dontknow:

Thanks guys for the help & input. ;) Definitely makes the cabin a more "cosy" place and just cool to have a fold out screen. Not sure if you guys know but most (if not all) the modern TV in-dash DVD screens have a port for a camera that automatically engages when reverse is selected, anyone have one or thought about it? :dontknow:

I just want mine to be as flush as possible and not stick out. How far do your guys units stick out? LOL That could be taken the wrong way.....lol The truck I'm getting is a single (no NAV) head unit so I'm hoping a double din in-dash screen set up should fit right in, fingers crossed.

;)

Question: See how on the 06 interior the radio has the knobs that come outside of the double din area. Any ideas how I could get around this or make it appear factory once I install my TV/DVD player? :dontknow: I just don't want two semi-circles on each side once installed.

im having one installed this week. trying to get a aftermarket sub hooked up to push my subs under the back seat without re wiring the whole system. also replacing the door speakers with jl audio 3 ways.

make sure you get a tv tuner if it dosent come with one its very nice watching news weather and traffic reports

I've stumbled upon a problem which I thought I might run across. I know you can buy the NAV size dash pieces off eBay and other sites because the non-NAV trucks have the system with buttons sticking out which would leave "semi circles" on either side and look, "weird". I know you can get a cheap ($6.99) fitting kit for the non-NAV bezel dashes (see below) but I still think it would look, dumb lol.

Anyone know what size the factory NAV is compared to head units. I looks like a double din. Anyone done this to a 2006 truck before? Surely someone has? :dontknow: I just don't want semi circles (see below) if I keep the non-NAV bezel in there.

Can someone with a 2006 NAV and non-NAV truck please measure the width and height of the system? Just needing some measurements to see just exactly what din size unit I can accommodate. I'll probably look at the NAV dash bezel as I really want to avoid having the semi circles on either side.

Thanks,
Carl

are you guys losing the ability to use your steering wheel controls? if you are, can they be wired up for the line lock/no2 buttons etc?

ummm... I don't know... But that would SWEEETTTT! Very good idea!

Does anyone make one with MP3 storage? I have 90 gigs of MP3's I want to play, dont have an Ipod and I would like to use the headunit to store all my files? Sorry for the threadjack :)

I'll measure mine tonight. . . its non-nav.

I bet if you're handy, you could fill in those semi-circles and repaint it. ;) That'll probably have to be done with a fixed screen, regardless of DIN opening size.

Good luck, sounds like a fun project!

Thanks mate, just in case, I'm getting a fold out screen which I believe the one I am looking at (Pioneer AHV-7950 or AVH-7560) is a double din unit where the screen hides away. Just better security having it tuck away. :)

Thanks. ;)

Kenwood has a music keg that will let you store music on it. You can read about it here --> LINK

I also think some headunits come with a hard drive that you could store music on. :dontknow:
