Ok Guys how much boost is safe to run on the The stock bottom end without upgrading it. I aslo don't want to spend money on the tranny either. Do you think this is doable without blowing anything.

There will always be concern, but 5-6 lbs should be oK as long as you are not racing her on a regular basis, but obviously there are never any guarantees!!!

ROE swears that the SC they offer is safe on a stock engine and tranny.

PROF has it on his RC with stock inernals. He swears by it. Give me couple months, and so will I.

Give me a few more months and I will report also!!!:D

roe 5-6
Paxton 7-8....I (and a few others) ran 9

I would say 9 would be close to the max on stock internals w/ a paxton.

I think Patrick is correct...the higher you go the closer you get to trouble.

"Trouble"...................a utilitarian euphemism for "kablooey"............

I run 22 to 26 without problems.

O shit , you talking about the FI , not the tyres...:D

Now serious Annu, If i'm correct :dontknow: you gain about 150 hp with the max boost within safe limits... I think boosted engines must be designed for that , they have a lower compression for a start. Knock will always destroy your engine as fuel-octane and compression ratio don't match...

Isn't there another way to reach those extra horses on a much safer basis and perhaps cheaper :dontknow: :dontknow:

The only cheaper way is by using NOS.

From the prices I have seen here for what people pay for heads, rockers, pushrods, etc., a rebuild to get you to the same NA HP would be 2 to 3 times the cost of the Roe or Paxton route.

I think pretty much ALL of the QC guys who put on a S/C had to upgrade the tranny. Their may be a couple who didn't. They'll chime in I'm sure.

Hmm..I know ViperTruck is doing a NA build and I thought it was cheaper than the S/C route..maybe he will jump in here..Oh wait..I think he is having his heads ported..not buying new ones..So you are probably correct Silver. From what I recall seeing, the cost of the new heads is equal to the S/C cost..course Im too lazy to look it up,...lol:eek: :D

Even those who did had some tranny issues! lol

Any FI and your stock tranny is gone....but you don't have to go crazy on a trans build....$1000.00 worth of upgraded parts and labor will allow you to run a safe 600+ rwhp FI package...

N/A build with strikers = $13000ish for 550-570rwhp

And as Nowwhat said before, it'll prolly run around 6K to be in the 540 to 550 rwhp area with mildly ported stock heads, bigger cam, roller rockers (what I am doing).

30ish rwhp for the Strikers over the ported OE's doesn't soud so good...:D

Hey Marc T-

Is that intake manifold and, er, "throttle body holder", powder coated black?

It sure looks sharp.

I think everything Marc has is black...I'm afraid to check, but I'll bet that at least one of his boards is high gloss black! (Probably a long board, which by the way RULE!)

For the QCs, would there be any issue with the stock rear end when running FI? I know the tranny won't last but does the rear end also need to be stronger than stock?
