Free Mods??

Free?? Remove the fuzzy strip along the top of the firewall.
Cheap?? Paint the "Viper Powered" under the hood".
Except for cat removal, There aren't many free/cheap mods on these trucks.
But there are a whole bunch of expensive ones.

um paint your drive shaft with the dupli color caliper paint brakes rear diff cover and trans cover and shocks all the same color (CHEAP)

I think the AIT Timing Tricker mod works on this vehicle as well, but I forget which resistor you need exactly. Do a search for it, the info's on here. (again, not free, but cheap) Exhaust cut-out (not free, but cheap, again)

The Exhaust cutouts, i like the way they sound with the x pipe in front of them, but without the x they sounded like shit. Very little difference in power with the cats in or out. I got the Summit Racing cutouts for rediculous cheap and tack welded the bolts to the holes, and put on wing nuts for easy removal. Nearly a year later and no rust still in good shape. $60 Caps in a little more torquey down low, caps out it opens up a little on the top in but the sound give the impression of alot faster.

Hey SRTMike... I removed 2 of the 4 cats and no it will not throw any codes... THE REAR 2 CATS ONLY... I have a full 3" sys. that I built right from the end of the cat all the back with the 3.5" race series magnaflows. No codes to date... I will be removing the front 2 soon... The sims will be going in to prevent the codes from popping up... OH and TAKE the cats they remove with you!! Do not leave them at the exhaust shop (unless their buds of yours and you want to)... Why, they will sell the cats and get good cash for them from the scrap guys that hit all the exhaust shops... I got wind of this from a friend and I took mine to the scrap yard myself here and got $175.00 for each cat!!!! So take them and sell them your self and get the cash... But that depends on the price of platinum for that day... Just FYI... Hope this helps... Tony...

didn't you end up with a CEL,because of the resistor?

No, no light. Just better response when everything is hot, like hotlapping at the track, and slightly better gas mileage, which i learned later was just a fluke. I could tell a positive difference, but all this info can be found on the link above.

Yes there is platinum in the cat, it's one of the metals in the cat (but mostly platinum) that causes the reaction with the exhaust gasses and turns it into clean air, so to speak... But yes it depends on the price of platinum for the day so check it out on the stock mkt. and yes the scrap yards here buy them fast... I hope to give (sell) them 2 more real soon... Tony...

ok thanks... so if i cut all 4 off and put 2 high flow cats. i should still be good rite.?? and does anyone on this site know of a drop that more than a 1-2drop??? thats all im finding. i DO NOT want to bag it. any ideas?
