Disclaimer: I am not an extreme "car guy". I know the basics and am learning as I go, so keep that in mind when my ideas sound way out in left field.

First off, I have a 05 QC with the mods in my sig. (silver so it is a faster model):D

I was thinking today about what direction I want to go with my truck now that I have a few minor upgrades done to it. The reason I bought the truck was to fill my "want" for a fast car and my families need for something that can eventually pull a trailer. So I compromised.;)

With that in mind I don't think i can and a turbo or SC cause it will hurt my towing ability(I believe). So I was thinking of doing something along the lines of say , for the lack of a better word, transformer. haha:dontknow: Having addons that I can do that won't hurt towing or can be easily swapped out on a trip to the track. Like having a separate set of rims and street slicks for the truck that I can bolt on when i head out.

So first question after all that rambling. What size of rims and tires would be ideal for the track? I would like to drive to the track with this setup on so it has to be street legal. Also I don't really want to shave my calipers or do body work if I can help it.

Second question. This is the one that may be way out there. Can a guy get a fuel cell for the box of his truck(say This) and have it filled with just race fuel. Then have a switch in the cab that controls a solenoid to switch between normal gas in the stock tank and race fuel in the aftermarket cell? I will have to go full cat delete to do this I imagine but that is no big deal.(if it even works.)

Let me know your ideas and maybe list a few places and brand names for tires and rims. Thanks a bunch.

A turbo or s/c would actually help with towing More so with a turbo. rims without changing or grinding the rear calipers would be 17 inch rims most use eagle alloy series 058 with the best DR out there M&H 390x40R17 pm John from m&h and he will hook you up. fuel cell yes you can but I will let others who have one or done them chime in on that.

exo eagle alloy rims 058 series work well 15x10 series,

get the drag radials straight from john at MH performance for the best deal

or you can check the for sale section and IH8CHVYS has a DTS rear axle replacement for sale at a good $1000 off with a detroit locker and wilwood brakes that allow 15 rims to be mounted, and 505's fastest viper has a killer deal on a set of bogart rims and slickks also

Wow thanks for the quick reply.

So you are saying http://www.jegs.com/i/M-H/676/ROD-09R/10002/-1 and http://www.aewheel.com/eagle_alloy_wheels.cfm?id=23 are what I should go for and I don't need any extra body work done?

About the rims. They offer 17x10, 17x8 and 17x6. And the tires need 12. Am I reading that wrong or just and idiot?

and for another dumb question. Any specific front tire to run?
Oops yeah 17X10 and no they will fit the 10 inch rim. ANd like stinker said PM John from M&H Tires and the rims you can get from discount tire but your gonna have to order them.

Perfect thanks very much. This will probably be my winter project, so ordering won't be a big deal.

well sometimes the eagles are hard to get ahold of, and call John a month or so before to be sure he has some DRs available, the end of the season they may get scarce

If john is the m&h vendor on the site I have sent him a message already. Best place for the rims?

I've been informed by yellow venom that running straight race gas will make the engine blow. Is there any way around this? Can't just be tuned to handle the higher octane?

you will lose HP on straight race fuel, the way around it is build the engine to run on staright race fuel, all you need is a 25% race fuel/pump gas mix is more then enough, race fuel burns slower then pump gas, just think what happens inside your engine if it doesn't burn it all off at WOT when your pouring the fuel to it!! I wouldn't guarentee it will blow, but it for sure will increase the chance of it happening!

Ya I don't want any increased chances of blowing. Not sure i am ready to sink 10k into the truck for a engine build either(probably 20k). Seeing as I have only had it for a few months.

ok now I think I am losing my mind. I know I saw an answer to this question and it may have even been in this thread. If I run 17x10 eagle alloy wheels on the back with mandh 390/40r17. What tire and rim setup should I have for the front? 17x? with what rubber?

won't look funny with 17's on the back? or does it sit pretty level with the tire size?

If you are only running them at the track who cares. Theres lots of people at Castrol that have different wheels on the back.

Let me know when you are going, my motor should be done in the next couple weeks and Ill go with you. Or Ill even take the wifes Jeep if mines not running yet.
