On my first extended trip with my QC, I got 14.6mpg averaging ~75mph on the highway. I thought this was excellent. Typically I get ~11mpg in the city, which is where I am driving mine 90% of the time.

I know no one who buys these trucks should care about gas mileage, but we see people asking all the time, so I thought I'd post my quantitative results.

Total of ~540 miles round trip, 95% highway driving. I was not towing anything, but did have the bed full. It was here in Texas, so no hills/mountains to traverse... just flat road.:p

not to bad for a qc, get an rc and ya can hit 21mpg on the highway in 6th gear at 70mph

Yeah, even with the tall OD in the auto, it's not nearly as steep as 6th gear in your manual trans.

Doesn't surprise me on your gas mileage... given the trans.

Would love to have a RC, but that would just be another toy for me. I needed a 4-5 seat truck, so it was QC for me.

right before my fuel pump went out I was getting 30 MPG:D:, at least that's what the computer was saying. that's right after i had tuned it with the SCT.

I don't think it was right. and I'm not sure if it was the fuel pump just going out.:D more to come when I get the truck back from the dealership.

at 55 on one long trip i got 17.5, computer, verified by fill ups.
never 21. saw 19 for a bit, at 45.

I can hit just about 18 on highway with my bone stock RC but that's also keeping a steady speed. Hoping some mods in the future will help but hell its a sport truck, and weekend driver so I don't care

I have seen 18.2 on the freeway at ~68 mph over a run of about 100 miles.

Personally I could care less about the gas, the tires/insurance/mod addiction is so much more money that it could get 5 and I would still grin like a idiot.

the wind plays a big part also i can travel one way and get 15-16 and then when i go back against the wind 12-13 at 75 mother nature at work once more... is also why the maloo holds factory truck speed record... at least if ya call it a truck !!!!! friggin modern day el camino shaped like a car which has less wind resistance

as long as no one post "...smiles per gallon..." that shit is gay as two boys fuc#$in'

Pink assures your comfortable with your sexuality. At least that's what the gay guys say!!!

My mostly stock rc usually gets about 17mpg in the hills of WV at 70mph.

I don't think I've past 12 MPG yet....then again I got a positive magnet on my foot that keepS the pedal to the metal! yOU GOT 540mi ON 1 tank

No, I didn't get 540 on one tank. The total trip was 540 miles.

To the rest...

I agree with mpg being inversely proportional to fun. One look at my sig file should show that.:D

All I was doing was stating a simple reference point. There was no reason to beat on the truck on the trip, nor was there any way to go reasonably faster on the highway, given the traffic on 4th of July weekend.

I don't care about the gas mileage or I wouldn't have bought a 5500+lb brick with a Viper motor in it. :) Nevertheless it was a good test to see what it would get on average given the conditions (fairly constant speed, fairly reasonable speed, and 500+ miles).
