Getting ready for the build.....

Thanks Roy. The loop is a great idea.

I don't want to spend the money on the new pistons. I am determined to spend less than I would on a S/C. Otherwise I would have just went that route.

I appreciate all the help. :) I'll pick up some PS fluid too.;)

Nice VP!! I hear from Justin that Joe is the man when it comes to viper engines congrat's. Ya gonna be ready for the get together at the end of april at boomers?

just curios...how many miles on this before your rbuilding? You boringit?
if so whats the new cubes?

Definatly get new lifters. Good luck on the build. Is the motor coming out or are they going to do it with thie block in the truck?

Well first have him remove the FRONT PLATE...:D

What kind of rwhp are you shooting for...? 550ish???

Have him give you a card for race gas....

other little things:
New head bolts (ARP)
flow match the injectors
new plug wires

Truck only has 4,500 mile. Not boring it. Bottom end staying stock. Displacement will not change. As I said before, if I were spending alot more I would have went with the supercharger. I am doing all of this for LESS than it would cost to S/C.

My goal is to put down over 550 rwhp. Anything over that would just be a bonus.

Appreciate all the tips. ;)

you buy them flow matched....or if your guy knows someone they can check yours...sind the one or two that don't flow the same and go from there...

I have been watching this thread and waiting for feedback...have you got your truck back yet? I am interested to see how much HP you get out of these mods.

Thanks!

oversized Pushrods
What are their specs?

Add ARP Head Studs (Bolts). You are going to have to buy some more stockers anyhow, might as well upgrade. ARPs will last the life of your truck.

Don't forget header gaskets, front and rear cover gaskets - may not be in Gasket set/kit. Or at least inventory your gasket set so you don't have to wait a couple days if you have to order one.

little things:
RTV sealant.
Thread lock.
Anti-seize.
Plug grease.
Distilled water (or shop will put in tap water).
Water Wetter.

Going to be finished in time to take it to Boomers at the end of the month?

Thanks for the info Bone.

As for the update: well there were some delays for this and some delays for that. It's really a LLLOOONGG story. :p

But the good news is that I drop the truck off at 9:00 am tomorrow morning. DAVET(BADVENM) will be there with his truck as well. So I'll get to meet him too.

Joe D says he thinks I'll get anywhere from 80-100 rwhp on the mods. I hope he's right. He could have my truck anywhere from 2-4 weeks, depending on how it goes. He gets the rough cut on the heads done somewhere else and then does the finish port/polish himself. That's part of the reason why I have been delayed getting in there.

I'll keep everyone posted once we get on with it.
