The 48RE SUX!!!!! I couldn't wait to get mine outta my truck! It's a heavy S.O.B. too. I musta lost 200lbs getting rid of that damn thing. Gained about 40-50 HP back as well from that power robbing POS excuse for a tranny. Even the Cummins guys hate that tranny.:burnout:

Yea im with you on that man foooorsure! But whats crazy is my dads cummins tranny works PERFECT! He put 230k on it before it started acting up. It drove perfect in 1,2,3,4 still but reverse was jacked up so i pulled the tranny and had Chino Hills Transmission rebuild it. They said the tranny had normal wear and tear on fwd clutches and it was time for new ones and the reverse band broke. They did an amazing rebuild and a few thousand miles later it is still feeling great. But i got a few other buddys with dodges and there trannys are all junk also. Guess my pops just got lucky with his lol

I had the same issue...went with a shift kit at first Then started having issues with the tv cable being it of adjustment took it in to have it adjusted and needed up having to replace my valve body after the dealership got ahold of it... Ended up getting a replacement from suncoast and it changed everything and shifted like a beast (if your running a stall it's perfect and smooth), and got rid of the 1-2 hunt. later on ended up doing a full build with some billet internals after I lost my forward band.

Yeah def was...I wouldn't have gone again but I didn't have my tools here the other day but still ended up being cheaper to just buy new tools instead of use the dealership... Mine was pretty close to 3k
